And to be honest I thought this was a really great quality that the JW's had
I never saw or heard of any racism. As a matter of fact, I would have to admit that might be the only good quality about JWs.
i grew up in an inner city area with many ethnic groups.
i saw very little racism or prejudice in the hall.
i'm wondering if my experience is isolated.

hey guys ... what the youngest known case of disfellowshipping?
and what's the story behind it if you know?.
taylors
I was on a JC that df'd a 16 year old for smoking. Got caught once, warned. Got caught second time, df'd. Of course, he dropped out, never to be seen again. Gee, I guess we showed him.
do you find there are significant differences in religious commitment across the atlantic?
feel free to chip in if your from another country which is even more die hard / soft and slushy than the us /brits.
My impression has always been that the US JWs take the whole thing more seriously.
That was kind of my impression about European JWs as a whole. This was esp. true when it came to college and "R" rated movies. I remember a few years back some Irish JWs were visiting the hall and were talking about the movie Braveheart and how good it was. Some of the local JWs were telling them "don't you know that it's a R-rated movie?" The Irish kind of shrugged their shoulders and asked what's an R rated movie?". lol

Nope. Americans are more gulliable.
a while back, there was a discussion about dfing and asking the elders to remove records of yourself ever having been a jw, publisher records, etc.
i responded that i didn?t believe there was a legal basis to force the records to be removed.

I have to admit, it was much easier to bare going door to door when one was in a large vehicle, like a van or SUV. Yesterday morning at 7am I was getting some coffee at Dukin Doughnuts and I saw a car full of JWs cramed into a mid-size car. One of them in the back practically had her face pressed against the window. She had this blank stare on her face. Ug! Brought back horrible memories.
I'd rather cheer for the White Sox than the Packers.
It always cracks me up seeing White Sox fans getting geared up for their games against the Cubs but not for the Twins games. Um...hello White Sox fans, you need to beat your division rivals. Duh.

this is what the hockey gods get for putting a cup in central florida.
They NEED a salary cap.
What they need is revenue sharing. Just look at the NFL vs. MLB. Every year with MLB it's always the Yankees and usually the same half dozen teams. It's because the bigger markets = more money = better players. With the NFL and revenue sharing, it levels the playing field. It's why a small market team like the dam Packers can compete year after year.
subject: and he's leading our country.. subject: presidential privilege.
before the 2001 inauguration of bush, he was invited for a tour of the white house.. after several glasses of iced tea, he asked bill clinton if he could use his personal bathroom.
he was astonished to find that president clinton had a solid gold urinal.. that afternoon he told laura about it and said "just think, i could have a gold urinal too, but i wouldn't do something that self-indulgent.".
Why keep picturing Clinton and Bush talking at the White House and Clinton say to him "No, really, your name is "Bush. Dam. Hey wanna a cigar?" giggles....
the u.s. house of representatives approved on thursday a sweeping set of rules aimed at forcing states to issue all adults federally approved electronic id cards, including driver's licenses.
under the rules, federal employees would reject licenses or identity cards that don't comply, which could curb americans' access to airplanes, trains, national parks, federal courthouses and other areas controlled by the federal government.
the bill was approved by a 261-161 vote.
"states to deny driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants"
Is that a bad thing?
