ok, for those of us non-, and never before-jw's, will someone please explain what the big deal is about having responsibility for microphones is all about?
we do use microphones in our church, but ....i mean whoever is in charge of any technology that day sets up microphones.
it could be anyone in the church, male or female, young or old, the pastor, the janitor.

have you ever lost any privilages due to being spiritually weak?
i wasn't going out in servive as much, not commenting and wasn't married to a witness.
i was taken off the ministry school talk # 2,couldn't pray for the congregation, was taken off the sound equipment, couldn't pass out literature, couldn't receive a blood card and finally couldn't receive any books because i wasn't considered part of the congregation.that was fine with me.. what were the signs you received from your congregation telling you that you were weak in the faith?.
I can well believe it - in the same cong. that I had problems with, there was an elderly brother (gardener by trade- therefore wasn't incapacitated at all), was taken off carrying the microphones. the Elders reason was the fact that he walked a bit slow
DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THESE CHRISTIANS !

Hi R & R
This sounds typical of the elders in my last congregation. At one period in my life, when I was over 60 yrs of age and had attained the "dizzy heights" of carrying the microphones for the watchtower session, this after being in this cong. for nearly 20 yrs. at this period, I went down with an exploded disc which incapacitated me for four months. (Lying on the floorboards).
On returning to the cong. the elders had taken me off carrying the microphone because I was inconsistent in Field service !
When I tried to reason with them, they blamed the decision on a ministerial servant. They were proved to be liars and completely unchristian !!!

1) build a hall in the center of the city, not far away like they usually do.. 2) make it 1 hour meetings.
3) dress clean, that's all.
4) beards or no beards, that's not important, it's what's in your heart that counts.. .
Cut out all LIES and tell the truth

how did noah put bitumen on the underside of the ark, did he get his family to lift it up allowing him to slide under and paint this on?
the underside being the most important face to be treated needed to be waterproof to make sure it did not allow leaks to occur, and had to stand up to extreme conditions for a whole year.

Brilliant answers Great stuff all of you.

hello, i am an ex jw in the air force, just wondering if anyone else was involved in the service after they escaped the cult.
I was in the army when it was a legal requirement to do your 2years conscription I was one of the last to be called up, they then abandoned conscription altogether. did my 6weeks training at Maidstone (Kent) then moved onto Shorncliffe. It was in this transfer that someone swapped mattresses when I was out, I was subsequently charged This is a long story but it allowed me to work my ticket and beat the army at there silly game. Instead of the 2 years mandatory period I did 8 months .This was a court martial offence to do this.
On a previous occasion I was charged with MUTINY, this was because the battalion was on strategic reserve and they thought that I was inciting the battalion not to do the harsh training!!! All this was before I became a witness, On reflection I think the army was the better choice.

australia on brink of ashes sweep.
6:19 pm january 4. england was left facing the prospect of a 5-0 ashes whitewash after limping to 5 for 114 at stumps, leading australia by just 12 runs, on the third day of the final ashes test at the sydney cricket ground.. kevin pietersen (29 not out) and nightwatchman monty panesar (0) were left with a near-impossible task to stave off defeat after australia ripped through the england batting after tea.. the nadir came in the penultimate over of the day when captain andrew flintoff was stumped for 7 after being judged out of his ground by the slenderest of margins as he played forward to shane warne.. but alastair cook (4); andrew strauss (24); ian bell (28), and paul collingwood (17) had all failed to fire as australia closed in on what will be the first five-test ashes series whitewash since 1920/21.. the australians were buoyed by a bravura batting performance from warne, who earlier top-scored with 71 as australia piled up 393 all out just before tea to take a first-innings lead of 102 runs.. brett lee (2-34) and stuart clark (2-29) then combined to keep australia in the driver's seat.. lee started the rout in just the third over of the innings when he had cook caught behind.. clark trapped strauss, before lee and wicket-keeper adam gilchrist combined again to remove bell.. collingwood and pietersen added 34 runs for the fourth wicket before collingwood edged a catch to a diving matthew hayden in the gully to make it 4 for 98.australian innings .
Ozzei,
O.K. O.K. So you were lucky at west ham as well,I’m thinking of getting my boots down from the attic, boots that came half way up your leg, the Bermuda shorts and the real leather football with the lace sticking out ½" especially when it was wet , it would frighten the life out of some of them nowadays, they were real men in those days were have they all gone?

the february 15th watchtower 2007, is spectacularly nauseating!!!
at least i found it so.. i would welcome the opinion of all on the board to this sentiment on page 19, paragraph 8 and9:.
'although subjection can be challenging, women can welcome it as honorable, even as did jesus.
Even Margaret Thatcher( Prime Minister )and a women still knew her limitations when she said at a conservative conference, that every women should have a little "willy", referring to Willy Whitelaw one of her cabinet colleagues.
