If you read just the bible, you would concluce it was Jesus speaking in the entire section.
It is only by adding convoluted reasoning to retro-fit the text to a preconceived belief, that it becomes confusing.

the saying people will make the same mistake over and over again is so true.
in the "revelation grand climax at hand" the revised one 2006 the wt again makes the same error and attributes the words at rev 22:12 to jehovah on pgs 306 and to jesus on the last page 319. you would think they would have learned their lesson from the 1978 wt blunder.
they almost use the same wording discussing the suddeness of jesus coming and jesus encourages his followers of his sudden coming and they list 5 scriptures and say jesus spoke them and one of the verses is (rev 22:12).

Hi Jeffro,
I see the point you're making.
The Revelation book takes a single discourse and attributes it to multiple speakers.
In this instance the Revelation book does indeed describe Jesus as speaking the words in paragraph 15, but identifies this as being different to the Alpha and Omega of paragraph 6.
Just got to update my other documents now.....

not even eating with such a man?.
today i added a new article to my blog taking a closer look at watchtowers doctrinal position that jehovahs witnesses should not even eat a meal with disfellowshipped individuals.
as it turns out watchtower holds families among jehovahs witnesses to one standard and holds itself to a wholly different standard.
I think there's been more flip flops on this too:
NO - w56 6/15 p. 383 Questions From Readers
A disfellowshiped person is no member of Jehovah’s congregation and may not be served the emblems by those serving at the celebration of the Lord’s evening meal.
YES - w58 8/1 p. 478 Questions From Readers
It is not for you or anyone serving the Memorial emblems to act as the judge, but to allow the emblems to go to anyone in the audience as these are passed along in the normal manner of letting each one have the opportunity to partake.
NO - w60 4/1 p. 224 Questions From Readers
Disfellowshiped persons are not welcome. Should they attend and partake, they would not be counted.
YES - w76 2/1 p. 76 “Keep Doing This in Remembrance of Me”
Those counted as partakers are those known as faithful, baptized servants of God. We do not invite disfellowshiped persons to attend. But if such a one is present, there is no reason to be disturbed if he is seated in a row with others and proceeds to partake of the emblems.

i have two.. luke 4.
16 he went to nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.
he stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet isaiah was handed to him.
Someone mentioned John 3:16.
In the NWT the greek word for Believe has been translated into Exercises Faith. This is suprising since the same greek word is found many times in the surrounding verses and consistently translated 'believe'.

i was thinking this weekend of a brother i first met when i was a teenager.. not yet an elder, this brother was very outspoken, and was viewed a kind of hero to the r&f.. an inexperienced teen, i also believed ( influenced by others) that this guy was a godsend.. looking back, with the eyes of a more mature person, i now consider him an arrogant self opinionated bully.. he later became an elder and i might add that he also had an imposing physical appearance .
but he had no education.
no schooling.
You forgot one Jean-Luc,
They also know better than the police and judicuary.

my mom is a recent widow.
she, being a jw does not have means to support herself and does not seek higher education ( because that would take from her studies ).
so, she is living ( sponging off of ) me.
If you were living with her and telling her things she didn't want to hear about the WTBTS, not only would she kick you out, but if you were baptised she would report you to the elders and have you kicked out of the congregation as well.
Remember that she cannot help herself. Your Mom simply will not stop. Now make your decision.

i've made no secret that i do not like the place or the people where i work.. i've had to borrow money to get my drums/brakes fixed.
i dropped my car off this morning before work.
i hesitantly spoke to one of the bosses (female that is so irritating) asking if i could please go pick up the car once they phoned to say it was ready - if i could use the time i usually took for lunch.
Email her in future.
If it's not written down it hasn't been said.
Sounds like she made you miss your dinner break. HR might have something to say about that.
Next time by more obscure, tell her you have an important appointment that you can't miss.

it may seem like a stupid question but who was responsible for translating their version of the bible?
i heard it was ray franz, several governing body members.
does anybody have any legitimate info that can prove who exactly translated it?
Reading the Bible this week I found another 'insertion' in the NWT that doesn't even have the [] around it, and I'm looking at a NWT that DOES still use [] for inserted text.
It's at Rom 16:7
NWT - Greet An·dron'i·cus and Ju'ni·as my relatives and my fellow captives, who are men of note among the apostles and who have been in union with Christ longer than I have.
This makes Junias a male apostle, but it is a womans name.
Other renderings:
KJV - Salute Andronicus and Iunia my kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the Apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
Revised - Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen, and my fellow–prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also have been in Christ before me.
Douay - Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and fellow prisoners: who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
ASV - Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also have been in Christ before me.
In fact in the 17 versions I have checked, only the NWT includes the gender 'men', to support their teaching that no women could have any positions in the congregation.
