  we are up for a new kind of persecution in the future.

  a new form that was unheard of for us.

  in australia, disfellowshipped and dissasociated are planning on suing jw for emotional and mental hardship for being cast out completely.

  my thread was inspired by gentledawn's insightful comment about the effect the events in wales had on her jw husband.... hope any lurkers out there can filter out the signal (storys and experiences like this) to noise (the current trolls running amok on the forums) ratios.

  this the problem with those who focus on outrageous fantasies about the watchtower.

  it distracts from the real issues that need to be highlighted.. what happened in wales was for real.

  i understood that i had neglected my children when they most needed my guidance and affection, admits eduardo.

  i had not been there to read them bible stories, to pray with them, to cuddle them, and to play with them.

  Never heard of you before Focus, and before you jump to conclusions, that's because you're not as big a big shot as your imagination is persuading you, but how could you know that?

  while researching something else, i came across these two comments from a wt on how we should view the blood issue, when it comes to our pets.. *** w64 2/15 p. 127 questions from readers ***.

  "would it be a violation of the scriptures for a christian to permit a veterinarian to give blood transfusions to a pet?

  by all means, to do so would be a violation of the scriptures.".

  While researching something else, I came across these two comments from a WT on how we should view the blood issue, when it comes to our pets.

  *** w64 2/15 p. 127 Questions From Readers ***
  "Would it be a violation of the Scriptures for a Christian to permit a veterinarian to give blood transfusions to a pet? By all means, to do so would be a violation of the Scriptures."

  "What, then, of animal food? May it be used if there is reason to believe there is blood in it? As far as a Christian is concerned, the answer is No, on the basis of principles already mentioned."

  The WT goes on to make the point that an animal can kill and eat another animal including it's blood, but that would be down to the animal, and not a Christian who has chosen to feed it blood.

  Don't forget, to do otherwise "would be a violation of the Scriptures latest wacky idea that has no scriptural basis".

  Awake 1973 banned Witnesses playing Chess..why?

  are all articles from jehovahs thoughts or do personal biased views poison the watchtower articles?

  imagine a brother who hates chess observing in discust two bethelites playing chess...would it be right to use jehovahs "spiritual food" to push your own warped view....yes!!.

  awake 1973 3/22 p.12 chess- "...the spirit of compitition between players can lead to unplesant circumstances...most families can keep comfrontations to the chess board...but for some the tension lingers long past checkmate...chess has been a game of war since its origin...a play substitute for the art of war...there is a danger of "stirring up compitition with one another" even developing hostility towards one another, something the bible warns christians to avoid..what effect does playing chess have apoun one?

  Witness 007 So why do some brothers not take note of this article and throw the chess set away....our articles help us be better Witnesses its not optional to defy advice...

  It's because the advice from 1973 was reversed in 1979 so that chess was acceptable once again.

  Oh, but in 1994 it was unacceptable once more when it was deemed to be "violent".

  Aha, but we're all ok again in 1996 when it's listed as something we can do "at a gathering".

  Clear?
  If they can't make their minds up on something as trivial as playing chess, it's a good job they don't hold sway over people when it comes to life and death matters, hey.

  i had a recent conversation with an elder from my mother's congregation.

  he with another elder was at my mom's house.

  my mother has all the bound volumes for both the awake and watchtower plus most of the older books.

  So getting baptised is just like going to work at McD's !

  I can see the similarity in that both JW's and McD's will give you a McEducation, but I think he forgets that you can turn your notice in at McD's if you don't like it there, and your family will still talk to you afterwards.

  Ramifications for Wt if Finnish government was successful in prohibiting shunning

  i was just thinking today of the ramifications for the wt if the government of finland was successful in its case against shunning practices, and eventually this was implemented all around the world.. the question this would raise is do they obey gods commandments or that of mans.

  jehovah has implemented a scriptural policy through the fds of disfellowshipping.

  it's a loving provision that helps the wrong doer see the errors of his ways and draws him back to jehovah.
