right on james woods. they are working with an outdated playbook. they used to focus on the housewife who, once converted would drag the kids and the checkbook to the meetings. good example of how out of touch with reality the witlesses are.

Knocking on doors on weekday mornings is effective... how?
by ilikecheese inso my boyfriend sometimes goes out on service on weekday mornings.
(he usually works evenings.
) he said that in three hours out there one day last week, not one person answered the door and the only person he saw was a door to door salesman.

nicely put cheese. all weekday witnessing does is target ppl who dont have a job. that is not a good business model. it is working backwards to bring in converts who are broke, lazy or disabled.

It is Fathers day here in Australia Today ,and I congratulate all fathers who are present on this board especially those trying to save their offspring from this cult.
by smiddy inthis being fathers day here i am empathising fathers ,but it equally applies to mothers, when we were beleivers as parents we wanted the best for our children that was afforded us within the bounds of religous constrictions .what we did in that timeframe was the best we could do for our offspring under those circumstances.as parents we beleived it wholesouled and wanted our children to benefit by it.
that was when we were beleivers now that we are,not opens up a new ball game.we have to set new priorities ,how do we go from promoting jw doctrine to bagging jw doctrine,it is not an easy swap.young children hang on every word of their parents ,if the parent reverses their thinking whoa it`s a major crises for the young mind.. maybe we need to do a little bit more in depth discussion about how we handle this problem.
smiddy.

has anyone stayed in a Yosemite cabin this year?
by Glander inapparently the rodents who get into the cabins and leave feces, fleas, etc.
are infected with the hanta virus.
they fear that as many as ten thousand people may have been exposed to this deadly germ which takes 6 weeks to incubate after exposure.

we are way overdue for major epidemic. the spike in population and speed in which we travel. zid very eloquently stated as much to me. unfortunatly the answer is not a popular one. it involves reproducing responsibly. not as a hobby.

Are you pro-activist, anti-activist, or passive?
by cedars ini ask this question because, having been on this forum for a year now, it's clear to me that there are many shades to so-called "apostasy", and this is particularly evident in the realm of anti-watchtower activism.. when i use the word "activism", likely picketing kingdom halls and conventions springs to mind.
however, activism can be far more subtle than that.
just having a website or a book that sheds light on the flaws of watchtower dogma is really a form of activism - arguably the most effective form at that.
-

without doubt. tho i dont participate in protests, i believe completely in a groups rights to do what they do. activism is responsible for many positive changes.
peronally i find it better to work within the loopholes.

A year has passed and guess what... I dont give a damn!
by TimothyT ingosh... i cannot believe i have been disfellowshipped for over a year!
its so surreal.
because of my ingrained belief that the jw organisation is the one and only true religion, i often think about everything that has happened quite often.
