Thanks Kneehigh this will have to go to the JW friend who has recently started writing to me. Everything else has failed, even mentioning Candace Conti. I will tell her I downloaded it straight from JW.Org which I have just checked it is very easy to do. Just put 2014 convention in the search box and the program comes straight up. That symposium on what must be kept in second place just blew me away, thanks.

Are You Moving Ahead With Jehovahs Organization? Study WT May 2014
by KateWild inobedience is key in the paragraph below and the urgency is also emphasised with an exclaimation mark.. .
10 the earthly part of gods organization is moving ahead in many ways.
it helps us understand bible truth more and more clearly.

Hi and welcome solitairelife. Yes that's why advertising agency use jingles in their tv adverts. Bet you can remember plenty of those from decades ago. Words set to music go in and stay in. All part of the cult process.

My JW sister left JW husband
by umbertoecho inafter years of looking down on me for not being "in the truth", being told (more or less) that my daughter died because i did not have the "truth" and therefore god's approval.
my sister has, after forty years of marriage and fifty years of being in the truth....left her husband and her dis-fellowshipped son and gone to live with our other sister (who by the way is disassociated).
i am amazed at this turn of events, as i have always been led to believe that they were a fine example of how complete and spiritually protected they were as a family for being in the jw religion.

The recipes for happiness don't change just because you are a Witness--nor do the recipes for unhappiness. JW just blind themselves to reality. And suffer in their dark exclusive silence. - humbled
So true Maeve, human beings have worked out over centuries what they need and I'm not just talking about philosophers, ordinary people have found happiness on this planet. We need loving not judgemental people around us, good food, beauty, music, creativity, interesting ideas to think and talk about, etc. Man cannot live on Watchtower self-righteousness alone. It is making people mentally ill.

It must have been a brother!
by hoser ini was listening to a conversation of jws recently about how trusting they are with each other and how out in "the world" you have to be ever so careful that you don't put down your purse or wallet for a minute otherwise it will be stolen.. i entered the conversation with an experience that one of my close friends had.
(true story) he was in a public place with a wallet with significant amount of cash and bank card, credit card, id, etc.. somehow he lost or misplaced the wallet, panicked of course.
he went to the police, cancelled all his cards and thought it was gone for sure.

When I told this to the Jws they said, well the person that returned it must have been a brother.
The only way they can cope with something that contradicts their world view is to make up lies about it. Not good for your mind to live like this. Eventually people just can't find a way out of the maze of their own beliefs. Very sad.

The endless generation, a TWISTED bible problem
by prologos inthe hundrets of 'bible writers' and compilers have set up a tome that was used to spin phantasic yarns, with people yearning to be the central characters in the end period.
stories of intervention by god that never came.
in these stories:.

from pentecost to now there were always believers who seriously thought that they were living in the time of the END OF THE WORLD, not just their natural end. but
This was not always a 'PRETZEL' reasoning like the WT's ongoing convoluted "2 groups = 1 generation" concept.
it is more like a never ending 'we live in the end' mental condition, a time concept like the one surface MOEBIUS strip,
TWISTED.
Yes in difficult times all through history since the first century Christians have said this must be 'the end time' Jesus spoke of. For example in the Reformation, for Protestants, Babylon the Great was fulfilled in Rome and the Pope. God would surely act to rid the world of the papists and bring in a new world order.

The term apostasy is used by sociologists to mean renunciation and criticism of, or opposition to, a person's former religion, in a technical sense and without pejorative connotation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy
Don't feel you have to tell your mother the whole truth. This religion has lied and lied to innocent people raised from childhood in it. Be wise and be a loving daughter, choosing your words carefully. You can't tell a brainwashed person the truth, not yet. Please tread carefully.

What was the "logical straw" that broke your camel's back?
by Pacopoolio ini had a bunch of tiny little nags that always bothered me about the bible/god/etc.
that eventually led to me drifting away, but this was my personal, singular issue that no one could address.
i think i mentioned it before here, but, for summation again:.

There were lots of things but for me the most obvious question was, if God is love and the main quality of Jesus' true disciples is love why are the JWs so unloving, cruel and full of hate?

It is legally an "assault" to point a gun. The Watch Tower assault: the SHUN GUN
by Terry inthe insidious bind the watchtower religion places on their members is unconscionable.. holding family and friends "hostage" as an extortion strategy may be their most potent weapon of enforced conformity.. .
in effect, like an armed criminal who points a gun at you and threatens "your money or your life", the watchtower leadership.
holds the power to separate dissenting members from those whom they most cherish.. the "gun" is the shun.. pointing the shun at you and threatening to cut you off from your loved ones is a psychological brutality.. absolute obedience is required.. .

Well they can leave with their nuclear family if they are mentally out and lose their extended family, parents, siblings etc. For me it was the only way but it is lonely. Sometimes I want to cry that I have no family apart from my daughter, an elderly cousin and an elderly aunt. There's nothing I can do, my parents are now dead and my siblings will not change. If you can face that then by all means leave and be free.

What are the feelings/thoughts within 24-48 hours of exposure to an undeniably true (for you) TATT?
by NeverKnew inmany of us know where we were during 9/11 or when john kennedy and martin luther king were killed.. it seems that when faced with ttatt, real truth is dismissed as "ol' light" or "an imperfect group of men" but from what i gather, many of you, at some point, were hit with a component of ttatt that shattered all of those cliches that allowed you to brush off the obvious reality that something was very wrong.
some of you may remember the hours following your earliest exposures to an undeniably true tatt.
did you zone completely out?

When we found Crisis of Conscience in the library we just read it straight through. We thought the way the governing body treated the brothers in Brooklyn bethel who started questioning the teachings was just the same way the local elders acted, totally callous. Then we knew it was the same all the way through, top to bottom. One brother in Brooklyn I remember tried to show the GB some scriptures he was concerned about and they called his ideas horseshit. It sticks in my mind because he was so upset they called a discussion of the Bible horseshit.
We couldn't sleep, my stomach hurt, I could barely eat. It was like being hit by a truck. We knew we had to leave but then what? We had to go out into the wide world. It was like those old medieval maps when people were afraid of sailing off the edge of the world, there be dragons.
