  They were a bit more cunning after 1975.

  Without actually even mentioning a specific year, there was much hype about "The Generation" meaning 70 years, and:

  - 1914 plus 70 years equals what year? (Go figure!)

  The thought was definitely left hanging there, and many fell for it.

  Where I was living during those years of the 1980s, the school leaving age was only 15, and many Witness kids dropped out of school the day they reached that age - all to partake "In the Ministry".

  Earlier to 1975, there had been widespread speculation that "The Generation" was possibly 40 years in length, making the years 1953/54 a possible time for the end. Persons affected by that would now be of advanced age, but still possibly alive,

  I would hardly consider as "timeless" any system that once permitted such activities as polygamy and concubinage - yet later practically condemned a man for even thinking about such things. (Then again, perhaps it is a just bit too much for a busted-@$$ electrician like myself to take in!)

  it's training for how a co should handle elder's whose children decide to pursue further education.

  So What Religion do You Claim to be when Entering Hospital?

  i've had a few medical procedures.

  once, i had a massive loss of blood and needed 6 units of blood to replace the loss.

  however, i'm curious as to what ex's state to be their religion when filling out the required paperwork when being admitted into a hospital.

  he seems ok i've seen a photo of him bleeding from his ear.

  this is absolutely nutso....if it's too it doesn't surprise me the way they constantly describe him as "far right" and that his supporters are "maga republicans".

  you would have had to qualify as an elder previously.

  this would mean the male would have had to have been an elder in his early 20's.

  And to think the JWs used to throw that one at the LDS missionaries - ie that they were simply far too young in years to meet the bible’s criteria for being an “elder”.

  Just as well they don’t live in glass houses!

  family move to remote pacific island to serve were the need is great get a mention in the year book.. however one of the (married) boys in the large family has sex with his sister while his wife is in hospital giving birth to their child.

  all hushed up not even a word said and hes now an elder d.fing people for lesser crimes.. young couple dating leave the jws and move in togather doing drugs partying ect.. his family grandfather,uncles, dad ect are all elders.. after a few years they decide to come back to the jws and are married in the k.h a few months latter.. 1 elder questions them getting married in the k.h and is voted down by his family.. to many drunks and c.s.a to mention.. karter..

  Both child molestation, and abuse of the sherry bottle by prominent persons in the congregation. (Actually it wasn’t the sherry “bottle” - more like half gallon jars of the stuff which this certain elder used to demolish in a single sitting. The problem only intensified after the disappointment of 1975).

  i was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters.

  ; and i thought the jw were raising a bunch of misogynist.

  would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women.

  In one congregation I was with, they were using unbaptised boys to handle the microphones, something “sisters” are forbidden to do. In another congregation, an unbaptised boy helped operate the sound system - despite being an outright little thug. Still, by virtue of having the correct plumbing, he was permitted to have a certain “privilege” denied all females!
