  All I can say is that IW post to you really upset me........no one should be treated w/disrespect like that. You come here you big old (no pun intended ) pussycat and let us pet ya for awhile! You add a lot to this board, and why I have never had the chance to chat w/you personally, I look forward to getting to know you better.

  Island Woman........shame on you. What goes around comes around........not that it matters, but you certainly have lost respect in my eyes. To treat another human being like that is uncalled for.

  Should I "ex JW" SHUN my JW family??

  i haven't posted in a while... been very busy lately.

  i am glad to be back though, i started reading the posts right away, and immediately felt comfort for how you guys are feeling, knowing i feel the same way.

  not many of you know my story.... but for a quick run down... i'm a disf'd jw, for about 11 yrs now, i'm 28, disf'd at the tender age of 17... my mother and sister are still in the org... they only talk to me when they want to, it doesn't have to be an important event, life or death or anything.

  Here is my two cents worth........

  Do what is BEST for you.

  For me, my mother has blown into my life here and there over the past 16 years. Seeing me when she wanted, laying whatever guilt trip she could on me only to tell me "You know we can't talk to you until you return. Remember Mannassah." I would get my hopes up only to have them shattered. For me I got to a point where I took control of the situation. I no longer beg her to talk to me. I made my ammends for my responsibility for our estrangment and am at peace w/the consequences that followed my decisions to leave. Personally, having my mother in my life isn't healthy for me. I don't like the kind of person she is, I don't respect her as a parent and hence I don't need her in my life. Sound cruel? Maybe to some. But IMHO, she has made that decision. I do what is best for me. My personal wellbeing is very important and I will not allow her to jepordize it.

  I have three children. I have offered her the chance to get to know her grandchildren. She has a hard time accepting my decision not to be a dub anymore and that feeling spills over to how she treats my children. Being their mother, my responsibility is to make their lives as safe as I can. I don't feel it is safe for them to be around her silly mind games-so I have decided that a relationship between grandchild/grandmother isn't going to happen as I wished. It is very unfortunate but that is reality. My children will never know their grandmother as long as she continues to be the irrational, controlling manipulative person that she is.

  Terrible Anxiety Attack Last Night....

  i've been dealing with so much stuff lately, and thinking that i was "doing alright".

  i'm not on any medication.

  i have had emotional issues due to times of severe stress years ago, and took medication, but the main thing is, i worked through all of that.

  I use to suffer from panic/anxiety attacks. It was an terrible feeling.......I can totally empathize with you. I went to a doctor and he prescribed Xanax for me. I used it for awhile until I could learn to control my attacks. For me it was learning how to momentarily detach, control my breathing and relax. It took me awhile before I was successful. I remember the day that I took the Xanax out of my purse and put it in the cupboard. Then I remember the day I took it out of the cupboard and flushed it down the toilet. Baby steps......I know you don't want to be medicated, but that was what I had to do.

  JW Youths Funeral: "cause he wasnt going t...

  this is just an update on an earlier post about jw youth dies in car crash.

  long story short, he was killed when his car struck a pole because he fell asleep at the wheel.

  his father had recently kicked him out of the house (he was only 18) becuase he was missing meetings.

  I remember having conversations w/my mother years after I had a string of bad things happen to me and her reasoning was the same as those stated here. I had to explain to her that what happened to me in my life DID NOT HAPPEN because I was no longer a dub......they just happened. They could happen to anyone. What narrow minded thinking...........

  i started a thread saturday morning about eyegirl and i getting ready to attend our brother's 30th bday party.

  what a blast we had!

  lot of laughs (omg...... only strange thing of the weekend was heading over to our grandma's for lunch on sunday, driving up and seeing mom and dad's truck parked in the driveway (they are still active dubs).

  dede.......did your son tell you that we called? Beck tried calling you guys until 11:30 at night but then figured that maybe the "Do Not Disturb" sign was up

  It was a great party......I never laughed so hard. That little setback on Sunday didn't dampen anything. And I will tell you......time never goes by faster in a car than when two yapping sisters travel together! A blink of an eye and our road trip was done! Hmmm.......wonder where to next?!

  Demon at My Daughters House

  my grandson's wife is staying at my daughters with her newborn son(my great grandson).

  they have a room in the basement.

  last night she said something was holding her in the bed and wouldn't let her go to her new baby.

  Apparently your parents are about to "see the light," as it is highly unlikely they showed up on the same door step as the three of you by accident. How about telling the whole story

  Here's the WHOLE story, bill...........

  Our parents came over on Sunday morning to work on Grandma's garage. Grandma didn't tell them that we were going to be there......I truely think it was a coincidence. I wonder what was going thru their minds as their three children were inside a house not 20 feet away from them? Our grandma told our parents when they got there that "all the kids were coming for lunch" and that she would love for them to come inside and join us. They left w/out saying a word. It stung a little because I realized that they didn't come in because of me........but that big hug from eyegirl with an "I love you" made it all better.

  Thanks! For those of you that don't know eyegirl's and my story........because of the dubs, her and I were seperated for 16 years......in fact, we have only been reunited a little over a year. This was the first birthday that all three of us siblings got to celebrate together......and, boy, did we celebrate!
