  All Good Things Come to an End!

  well friends, it's been nice, but just like the society this board was created for, it has deterioted, far worse than h20 or any of the other boards out there, a certain element here continue to bring down this forum to the lowest of lows, and i no longer have the patience to sift through the garbage and hate incited threads to find something worth while contributing too.

  so, with those words, i bid you all farewell, and pray one day you find yourselves!.

  I believe RR was upset about the recent trashing of C.T.Russell, the one RR holds up high. There have been a few posts recently that depicted Russell in a not so elegant manner. The Bible Students have no tolerance for people who attack their idol C.T.R. They will go as far as ban the likes of those from their forums. Any information posted on the BS forums proving the false predictions and pure nonsense Russell taught are usually removed or the individual is soon to be banned. Most BS are in as much a mindset when it comes to their faith as the JWs.

  Those in the list JT posted are figure heads. Who has control over the assets and bank accounts? I believe those actually in control of the Mormon church and its holdings have ties with the WTBTS. The two religions are very similar in the way they conduct themselves. Someone is getting very rich from the labors of the mindless.

  i grew up a jw.

  finally stopped attending meetings at age 31.. in all that time, i never "progressed" beyond the ministry school, wt reading and the microphone running stage.. it was not for lack of so-called encouragement.

  without wanting to blow my own trumpet, i'm was a good public reader and speaker (mostly because of copying words and sentence structure from the likes of charles dickens in my talks).

  Why Another 1975 Scenario is Unlikely

  i note that (the brothers) some are speculating that 2005 now exists as the dubs' next "final" date to work towards.

  at this point in time, i can't see it being an effective carrot for attracting people outside the witnesses.

  basically, things are too good.. 1975 probably looked like a great date for the end, because so much had gone wrong in the early 70s; the post wwii "long (economic) boom" came to a screeching halt, the first of the "oil shocks" occurred, the us was losing the vietnam war and looked like it could lose the cold war with the ussr.. interestingly, while the jws were getting off on bad events in the world at large, so were certain elements of mainstream "christendom".

  Just this week in the congregation I attended, another long time raised in the borg stayed in all his life JW died. This is the third JW over 70 that died in the last 5 months from the KH I attended. I know many of the older ones that were very good friends with them. There are a few with very strong doubts as far as if they themselves will see Armageddon.

  It is sad to see so many people give up their lives for an organization that has drummed up lies and deceived people for a profit, or was that false prophet?

  For the WT to bring in a new date, it would seem they would have to revamp their chronology to fit the date. To do this would mean out with the old books and in with the new. This would mean every faithful JW buying new books to keep up with the new light. This would mean more money generated for the WT and those making the money who actually own the corporation, whoever they may be. This is the main concern of those who control the interest of the Society. A new date may discourage some, but incourage others, especially the younger witnesses and those new to the untruth. The Society will always have supporters, the reason, there are just to many ignorant people out there in the world that need a crutch and need something besides relying on common sense to guide them.

  Just my thoughts on this.

  a critique of suzi mayhem's theory of god .

  i thought, when suzi first posted this, that it was a joke something like john cleese's classic "brontosaurus theory" skit in a monty python episode.

  but mr. "dark clouds" has sort of asked me to critique it as if it were a serious theory, so here goes.. i'll address this to suzi, but suzi dear, don't take this too seriously.
