  I think if you leave out the word cult and made it about religion in general some of them would read it.

  If it is an obvious book about the JWs they wouldn't read it unless they were already on the way out.

  God Cannot Lie, But God's Organization Can?

  in the recently leaked bethel training videos, both speakers state that inappropriate flirting really amounts to lying, as if a person is misrepresenting either his interest or availability to another person romantically.. we are reminded that the bible is very plain in its expressions on lying such as proverbs 12:22 which states it is detestable to god.

  so with the example given here, we must have a very high standard in separating what is truthful from what is not.. with that being the case, it shocks me that bethel would produce a video presented to all in attendance at the 2017 regional convention regarding the early 1970's, essentially rewriting history as to what actually happened.. is misrepresenting your past and misleading millions of followers not a much more extreme case of lying from those who claim to reject any form of lying no matter how small, such as flirting?

  would anyone like to add more examples to this thread?.

  Sometimes I think I want to say to my uber in mother - "you know as sad as you are that we are no longer attending meetings etc, that is how sad we are that you cannot see that you are being lied to and misled".

  It makes me very angry.

  A pet peeve

  a pet peeve of mine is that there are numerous christian denominations (other faiths with their 'holy' books too), all claim that their interpretation of their 'holy' book is the correct interpretation.

  my conclusion is that either their god is a very poor communicator or simply doesn't exist.. i used to believe all this stuff when i was a jobo and later a church going christian.

  i simply cannot, in all honesty subscribe to it all any more.

  I was just saying to my husband the other night, that all the experiences that are attributed to god answering prayers and therefore proof that they have found the right religion - for every one of these there is a same answer to a prayer in yet another religion proving to them that they are on the right track. So either god is answering all these prayers and is not interested in just one religion or there is another explanation to these supposed answers.

  Oh and I have to share this with you because it made me laugh- my 10 year old has done something to my computer so that every time the word Christian/s comes up is see the word Spaghettiian and every Jesus comes up as Jeffy.

  Jehovah draws ones into the truth. This one makes no sense to me as a pretty much born in. If you were a born in you are not drawn in you are dragged in by your parents.

  playing dirty as it can, trying to silence dissenters.. the john cedars channel on youtube has been taken down after the posting of a video critique of regional (district) convention leaked videos.. sounds like something putin would do in russia.

  PO of our congregation gave a talk and said "if you eat turkey at Christmas time, who do you think you are kidding?" Eating turkey is celebrating Christmas. Lol.

  We also had an occasion where the elders got word that a group of us had planned to go to a concert on a meeting night and they went and visited each one of us and made it clear that we would be marked if we were to do so.

  Year 1925 - millions now living will never die - complete book for download

  few days ago włodzimierz bednarski, a polish scholar specializing in jw doctrine finished translating his latest book about year 1925. for those who don't know, the "millions" campaign was one of the biggest failed prophecies of watchtower society.

  it's also one of the most forgotten ones.

  i for have learned about this only after reading this book in polish some time ago.

  i happen to be one of very few people who know of this condition that the man has.

  he had an accident several years ago with some power equipment.

  leviticus 21:20 commands that no man present the bread at the temple with damaged testicles... so?.

  It again shows that too much private information should not be shared. How would you even know if you were not told.

  A few years ago a friend of mine was getting married. They had both been married before and were not JW at the time of their first marriages. They had a meeting with the elders prior to the wedding, both already in their 40s with grown children and the elders asked them if they were going to have children together? They said no and the topic of contraception came up. The brother revealed that it would not be a problem as he had a vasectomy years ago.

  The elders were not happy to hear this and made sure to find out when it was that he had the vasectomy. He had it done pre witness days but come on!! How is any of this their business?? Why answer them instead of saying mind your own business.
