Funny occurrences
by Freedom rocks inwhat were some funny experiences you had of things that happened during talks at the meetings?.
a few of mine:.
- a brother had dyed his hair before his talk and it was raining heavily when he arrived at the hall and the dye was running down his face during his talk and his skin went more and more grey as the black dye ran down it.

Imagine ... throughout an entire public talk the speaker says "adultery" instead of "idolatry". And everyone keeps a straight face! ๐

I find the question intrusive. I am offended. Personal boundaries anyone?!

I watched it the other day on Shaw On Demand. In Canada. In "new releases" I think. Literally made me sick to my stomach, and left me shaking, it was so realistic. Guess I still need more time with my therapist. ๐คท

Eye-brow Wigs ... are a thing?
by Simon in... and apparently justin trudeau wears them.
also, they can come off or slip down while you are doing a press-conference to a global audience.
what a god awful embarrassment this fool is, he should stick to his indian costume dress-up and dancing routine.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g46km4da3yw.

Yes, you can purchase eyebrow wigs. I had a pair a few years back. Didn't keep them for too long. Doubt Trudeau has them, though. For just that reason - slippage would be too embarrassing. ๐

A conversation with an ultra dub relative
by joe134cd ini was talking to a very pimi relative the other day.
despite been ultra orthodox she is a sweet old soul.
because of this i had to be super careful how i worded things, due to my respect for her and not wanting to upset or get her aposta-dar homing iโm on me.

Stan livedeath:. Everyone, regardless of age, deserves to hear TTAT, in my opinion. I'm a 72 year old woman who left 2 years ago. I have many good years of living left in me and am as worthwhile as a younger person. I may be wrong, but isn't your attitude one of age discrimination?

My thoughts (from personal experience and what worked for me) - get very serious and determined about leaving, then leave, then get yourself DF'd or write a letter of disassociation.
Fading just makes it too easy to go back in those moments of doubt or loneliness or fear.
My mother is afraid every day that I'll go back to the Witnesses (9 months since I left). That concerns me because she's been right about a lot of things about me. But when the odd fleeting thought crosses my mind, I quickly dismiss it. I've been afraid to even look at the possibility. But now when I look at it head-on, I guess I'm afraid that somewhere deep inside there are these longings that will catch up with me and drag me back in. And then I look at my life now and my life then, and this one is so much better! And when I think about the process of being re-instated, well, no thanks!
In a nutshell, this is what's been working for me to keep me out.
I lead with my heart and my heart can often get me in trouble. I remind myself to examine what my heart seems to be telling me, and then listen to my head. That's t where my intelligence lies, that's where good decision making happens.
I must add, I'm 71 and my mother just turned 98. She's amazing, and I like to think I'm getting to be much like her! Love you, Mom! She's not very well these days, in and out of the hospital, and we don't live close enough that I can just go see her. But we speak on the phone almost daily, and she's still sharp as a tack, thank goodness!
Thanks for this thread!! It prompted me to write after several months of silence. - LNO

Words for the Day; please share
by compound complex ingreetings, word lovers:.
in my job, i work with words and wrangle them into shape, well, in a manner of speaking.
one word might be mistaken for another, a word with either a similar or identical sound.

Have You Found Your Place in the World?
by Rainbow_Troll inwe were all told when we were in the watchtower that we should be grateful to be part of such a loving family.
we were told that just beyond the superficial glamour of the world was a quagmire of despair, emptiness and pain waiting to suck us in.
obviously, we took that part with a mountain of salt or we wouldn't be here today.

No, I haven`t had any such luck. And, no, I don`t have any suggestions. What I AM exploring is the idea of stopping looking for any community or group. People tell me I need to find one, that it`s not healthy to live without one and to be without friends.. I wonder, though. I`m happy currently living my life doing what pleases me. I`m not hurting anyone. It`s been 7 months since I left any so-called friends, left my so-called husband, left my town for a new one, left the JWs. I`m most definitely an introvert. Anyone else here stopped looking to make friends or stop trying to find a group or community.
