Ken, you and your daughter are fortunate. You have a blessed relationship. It makes me think about our own relationship with our universal creator, who gives us so much every day we breathe.

just got news yesterday, indirectlyly from another non-jw family member, that my mom is going to have heart surgery afterall.
they will replace a valve and do a triple by-pass to try to fix her up.
this is such surprising news for me, especially at this time.
Just thought I'd pop back in and say that it has also "truly" been raining here since last Friday!! I could sure use some sunshine about now!!

http://www.cnn.com/2004/us/west/04/14/girl.found/index.html girl in wreck survives 10 days on noodles, gatorade 'it's amazing she was able to live that long'
los angeles, california (cnn) -- a 5-year-old girl is in stable condition wednesday, a day after she was discovered by highway workers near the scene of a car crash that killed her mother about 10 days ago, according to police and hospital officials.
ruby bustamante survived by drinking gatorade and eating dried noodles found in the car, according to family members.. police believe norma bustamante, 26, drove off a highway near banning, california, about 70 miles east of downtown los angeles, plunging 400 feet over the guardrail to her death, according to capt.
I'm certain this little one will need help to get through this trauma. She survived--not only her mother's horendous death, but also the slow decomposition of the body over ten days.
I do wonder why they didn't find the accident any sooner, when they were reported missing on the 4th!! Someone will have to answer that question for sure.

hey all, so over the past three months i've been going to the highest mountain to the depths of hell trying to win my wife back against the better judgement of everyone that knows anything about my situation.
anyway, the other night i went to the strip club where she works as a cocktail waitress and while i was there she introduced me to a stripper that used to be a jw.
she sat down with me and talked about jw lies and who we knew from old congregations and such.
I think Elsewhere is right. Perhaps your wife is trying to set up a three way, or seemingly giving the nod of approval your way to see this chick. But why???
One word of caution. You are still married. You obviously still love your wife. Either fix that relationship or end it before getting involved with someone else--even causually. Let's be honest here. You know where this is going to lead. Your wife may just be waiting to trap you as well, so she can get the divorce and charge you with adultery. It wouldn't be the first time.

Along the lines of Dan-0's comment......If I couldn't tell my husband about my "other" activity and feel comfortable and perfectly at ease--if I had to keep it a secret, then I'd be dishonest in our relationship and commitment to each other. I'd feel guilty keeping a secret like that. Your heart will tell you, and then if you go against that urging, your mind will tell you, and then if you continue to pursue an activity that you wouldn't want your mate doing, you are going down a path and will have to accept the consequences. You alone will have to live with the choice you make. It doesn't just stop with you. Your actions always affect someone else.

tonight on national geographic a group of scientists were sailing the black sea in hopes of find what may have caused a huge flood in the area 4,000 years ago.
the actual disaster would have taken a year for the nearby sea to leach into the black sea (and make it the largest lake on earth).
the shoreline would rise several feet per day and so moving was the only option.
There was a recent show on PBS about the Sumerian Flood and Noah. A much more believable and realistic accounting of this "flood".
TV is really getting to be a very good source of information lately about religious beliefs and the basis for the teachings held so divine by bible worshipers for ages. It is presenting very good questions out there to get folks to THINK. Dogma is very difficult to dislodge. People get stuck in these belief systems that are more tradition than anything else.

i think back to when i was a kid...a non-jw one.
easter was the time of new dresses, chocolate bunnies (you had to bite the ears off first to make sure it was the solid kind), ham with the little cloves stuck right in it, and peaceful family time.. during my jw years i didn't 'celebrate' it, but it slowly but surely became a 'family' time.
my flesh and blood sister (jw) and all my step family (non-jw) would congregate at the parents' place and we'd play games and eat and laugh.
Who's to say you will never again see your mother?
We humans limit our horizons because we fear the unknown. Still, the heart and mind seemed tuned in to a uniting of souls in our universal home.
Just as we recognize someone by their voice when they aren't in front of us visibly, so we can recognize loved ones who's paths we've crossed in our life time. All things are possible.

our eldest son (40) and his wife (37) are expecting their third baby in september (a "surprise" pregnancy.
they got the results of their amnio yesterday and it is another boy.
they have two boys, 10 and almost 4. the ultrasound had given them hope it was a girl, but had an amnio to be sure.. they were disappointed, but my dil had a feeling it was a boy all along, so wasn't too excited about a girl yet.
Oh Marilyn, I know you must be thrilled!
Congratulations on this most happy news!!

I have gathered all your well wishes into my heart. Your responses gave me the courage to go ahead and call her this afternoon. I was home a bit early, and it just seemed like the thing my heart was urging me to do.
Her voice was as sweet as ever, but with a guardedness about what she spoke about with me. She keeps it all under the "health category". She said she was glad I had called to inquire about her "health". It was very brief, and as always, she ended it with "I hope you know how very much I love you".
....it just breaks my heart to realize how much our relationship as changed, but I do feel very good that I made the call. It was the right thing to do, no matter what she thought about it. It's what loving people do. They contact their loved ones and chat with them. Life is too short to do anything otherwise.
