Internally rolling my eyes.. Get this
by raven ina bit of an update, last weekend was my great grandmothers funeral, now, she was never a jw, and never was going to be, no matter how hard my mother, and grandmother tried to preach to her, she was the type of person that would kindly accept a wt or a book, but she wouldn't bother reading them.. anyways, she was a great wonderful and inspiring woman, the funeral was extremely sad, she had been a school teacher for over 35 years and a member of various clubs, so there were a lot of folks besides family that attended.. well, anyways i was there and so was my jw mother, stepfather, and grandmother, we were cordial, didn't talk about anything jw related because, it was great grandmothers funeral, not really a time to discuss how i am an evil sinner, or how i've escaped the org by avoiding df'ing, right?
wrong, as i'm sitting waiting for the service to begin, a lady shows up, now- i have known this woman for a long time, apparently she baby sat me as a small child, (like i remember?
) so she isn't someone i was ever close with, but knew of her or when she was around would say hi to and make small talk.. to give you a tid-bit on her personality though, she is one of those crazy jw's.. she claims to have been possessed by a demon, very very wacky on the prophesies, or gb talks, etc.

Hi everyone!
A bit of an update, last weekend was my great grandmothers funeral, now, she was never a JW, and never was going to be, no matter how hard my mother, and grandmother tried to preach to her, she was the type of person that would kindly accept a WT or a book, but she wouldn't bother reading them.. Wrong, as I'm sitting waiting for the service to begin, a lady shows up, now- I have known this woman for a long time, apparently she baby sat me as a small child, (like I remember?) so she isn't someone I was ever close with, but knew of her or when she was around would say hi to and make small talk.. To give you a tid-bit on her personality though, she is one of those crazy JW's.. She claims to have been possessed by a demon, very very wacky on the prophesies, or GB talks, etc. You get it, the phsyco JW we all have in a hall, the one who would put their foot in the door if a householder was to shut it.. Yea a crazy lady.. So anyways, I see her, and I'm internally rolling my eyes, here we go... So I stand up to say hi since our eyes met, and she grabs me by the wrists of my hands and holds them up, and says to me "I HAVE BEEN HYSTERICALLY CRYING SINCE I FOUND OUT THAT YOU HAVE LEFT JEHOVAH" She goes on and on and on and on about how the battlegrounds have already started to align, and if I am aware of the new arrangement, (I said yes so she'd shut up, but no I don't know what the new arrangement is, can anyone tell me?) As she is going on about me leaving she starts bawling like a baby, crying and crying "COME BACK TO JEHOVAH, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE, SATAN HAS YOU NOW!!!!" Then she proceeds to repeat everything she already said, as I am standing there in complete disbelief, this lady seriously has the guts to pull this crap at my great-grandmothers FUNERAL? What about the whole "there is a time and a place for everything" Seriously? I could not even wrap my head around the fact that this was so inappropriate. As she is continuing to cry and sob like a baby, begging me to come back, saying "Do you promise me you will come back so you don't get destroyed, promise me? PROMISE?" Finally the service was going to begin and she pulls me in for a hug, gets tear drops on my top and goes to sit down.. After the service is over she comes back up to me as I am trying to avoid her, and says "Give me your number, once the girls you went to pioneer school find out about this they are going to be heartbroken, whats your Face-Book, call me, PLEASE!" I said, " I don't have Face-Book, and I have your #, thank you.." (I don't actually have her #) She then says "Promise me you will call me by next week and if I don't hear from you, I will get your #" .... Good god woman, leave me alone!!! So anyways no I have not reached out to this whack job. And I'm not planning on it, but I can only imagine what type of gossip she is spreading, because she is that kind of JW. Just ridiculous, so now I feel as though the funeral for my great-grandmother was in a sense, ruined for me because of this lady, I felt uncomfortable the entire time while I was supposed to be focused on my great grandma, and her life.. Just irritating..

What did you regrettably not do because you were a Jehovah's Witness ?
by minimus injehovah's witnesses cannot do a lot of things.
i remember pioneers having to quit their jobs because they could not work in a convenience store and sell cigarettes.
i know of a young man who was offered a scholarship to any college or university if he wanted to go to because of his football abilities.

Lunch today with.. JW step father....
by raven init has been a while since i've posted, i think its because i have finally gotten some peace and quiet as far as harassment from the jw elders.. my step father, the one who reported me to the elder police for a sinful act invited me to lunch today.. it has been almost a year since the incident, we have talked here and there, it has been just casual though.
he says he is in town for work and asked if i would like to meet up for lunch, i couldn't think of any excuses so i agreed.. i hope it goes well, hope that we don't go into the jw nonsense.
hope he doesn't bring elders with him, am i paranoid or what?

LONGHAIRGAL- I am an adult, and financially independent ( I own my own home in a different city, about 1 1/2 hours away from my JW family and EX KH ) I will try that next time, I don't want to give off the idea that I am letting my guard down.. He may have a different motive other than a simple generic lunch for future.

SCRATCHME1010- I agree with you, I think that is part of what the cult has done to us is instill paranoia.. Its difficult to overcome but I am trying to move past that, I suppose that we just keep our guard up with active JW's.. During lunch, I did not give out any personal information, I didn't even give away my new address.. ( the elders were stalking me at the old one ) I just feel I will always have to tread lightly with step father, or even any JW if I come into contact with one.
SMIDDY & ALOSPUPPYDOG- Thank you, I hope so too in due time. However, I do believe he is trying to test the waters.. I honestly believe he sees me as "getting away with it" because I avoided the elders at all costs and never returned their calls or invites to Judicial Meetings so that they could catch me and disfellowship me.
WINGCOMMANDER & ORPHANCROW- Yes yes I know.. I had(have?) some very bitter feelings towards him.. I just try to not think about it, it's in all honesty a very confusing situation. But, I did get a free lunch out of it? Like I mentioned, I tread lightly with him.. This was our first meeting since he had reported me.. He didn't mention anything about it, he didn't talk about elders. BUT like others have said, he is probably testing me. I'm aware of it though.
KAIROS- I understand your point, and I definitely agree.. I have already been thrown under the bus by my own mother.. I don't trust these folks for a second, I do have wishful thinking though.. Do you think it would be worth it to DA at this point? Or just go on like I have been, faded, and dodged the elders. ( They have not contacted me since August, however I did move to a different home, the new owners of my previous house have probably noted "return to sender" if the elders have dropped any mail )

Poopie has a thought what do you think child molestation
by poopie inso here's my thought what should be done to an elder that is accused of molesting a child and there no 2 witnesses ?
1. the elder should immediately step down or be removed.2.
the child should be protected.

The whole topic disgusts me. I honestly think they should be turned over to the police. Duties and privileges removed, the JW's have no business in acting as the court system, jury, or JW police unit here.. Or even any matter of peoples lives. Enough of counseling the predators, grooming them for service, etc.. Enough of it, just send them to jail.

OrphanCrow, you make a good point.. I suspect he may try to drop JW info in our conversations if we do end up meeting for lunch again sometime. But I don't ask any questions back about that subject, nor do I really acknowledge it.. I just nodded, and said "that's nice".. But, coming from someone such as yourself who has over 40 years of experience with this, I am sure you have had encounters with JW's since leaving.. How do you handle it?

UPDATE-
I just got back from lunch with step father.. I have to say, all of my speculations, paranoia ideas were put to rest.. We talked about generic topics, weather, work, cars, family etc.. He did try to drop a couple of JW points in there, he told me that two people I knew got reinstated.. He also said during our subject of cars, that he wants to trade in his car for a bigger one so that he can always use it for service. I was friendly about it, but I didn't ask questions. Anyways, so it went well, maybe more lunch meet ups in the future?

FLIPPER- I appreciate your input! You always are able to give me great advice.. I will tread lightly, like I had mentioned, I won't be surprised if he brings up any JW topics.. But like you had suggested, I'll wade around it. Just need to stick to not giving out information.. Generic subjects should do best here. Fingers crossed.

Interesting, I think he will return as he sees you as one he may be able to persuade into coming back.. Good conversation though, I am not sure I would open the door to one if they came by my house- None have yet.. Wonder why?
