I had the same problem, my x-wife and her family listened to the new light at the kingdum hall and thought they would shun me, I went to a tuesday nite bookstudy and announced to them how friendly everyone was there, (gag me ,yuck) the immediatly stopped there Borg mind control games and quit harrasing me, sometimes you have to beat them at there own game.

I have the same experiance with the organization as you, after years of no contact with my family my brother sister and myself got together to make amends with our ageing parents My father has always been an Elder since day one, I can relate as can my Brother and Sister to the no child hood, We were always expected to do assembly parts, give talks and pioneer, we all have emotional problems from being raised as adults and not being aloud the inocents of being a child, after therapy for drug and alchohol abuse, child abuse, and other issues, and a good amount of counseling we were all ready to go to our parents after 15 to 20 years of no contact or explosive contact.
We all meet in Sacremento at my brothers house and drive to our parents place in Paradise Ca.(I have the joke that they got tired of waiting for Paradise and decided to buy property there) Anyway we sat down to a meal had long talks, hugged made our amends and for the first time were a family again. We made our positions clear and all was understood and forgiven, we did not expect them to change but were willing to except them the way they were because they were our parents. We left on good terms and felt good about this Miracle event. We exchanged E-mails with them daily and each other, than in August more new F%*#!?G light, now we are all back were we started, no contact, no e-mails, no love. none of us are df'd and yet here we are abused by the GB and this Evil Organization, Only Satan would want to break up familys this way, sorry this started out to be a short response ,didn't mean to rain on your parade. This Sucks

I read your story, very real I can relate to not only your parents attitude but that of the elders, it seems like they handle everything they do with simular care, I beleive they should eliminate the position of the Elder, they have no reason or education to be in the posisition they are in,they should really streamline the congregations by turning social problems over to social workers, and rename elders, The Readers of the Borg, they could just read there GB script for them and go home, let the GB take the heat for there own mistakes, cut out the middlemen and keep up with life on lifes terms instead of waiting untill they are 20 years behind the times and waiting for new light, because by the time they get the new light they already have a whole generation fucked up and running a-muck.

Why than is the organization being so Bull Headed on changeing the way they instruct the Elders to handle child abuse cases, weather they abhore it or not there policies are banishing the abused and embracing the perpitrators,what does it take for new light on this policy, a lightning bolt from God.
Why is it so hard for them to listen to the crying of the young slaves being harmed by this policy, a simple thing to change and in my opinion new light starring them in the face.

As long as you suit up and sit at a meeting your a witness, the better the lyer you are the further up the ranks you can go,For example, I attended my neices wedding I was using the jon, sit down variety, At the baquet hall they had an elaborate bar with every kinda booze you can think of and everyone was getting really drunk, I had been there an done that and had been clean and sober for a good while, anyway I was taking note of the amount of booze being consumed (if you think theres not a alchohol abuse problem in the org your just kidding yourself, anyway I was sitting on the Jon 3 brothers who I have known for years came in and obviously had a good buzz going, the part that shocked me was when they pulled out there wallets and began snorting coke out of the folded up papers that were inside, my imagination you say, no one of them went to use the toilet but left his wallet on the toilet paper dispenser I checked the stall after they left to make sure no one saw me in there, in the wallet of the MS I had known for so long was a diamond shaped paper wrapper that when you unfold it contained a good amount of white powder, I dumped it in the toilet put the wallet back were I found it and had fun watching this MS go back into the bathroom and come out looking as if he had seen a ghost.
