Edited, Cos first time round, it didn't make sense
by invisible ingod?
i, ruddy nora, can i type this without getting struck down by lightning, well, what i mean to say is, i have wondered sometimes, as you do, whether god knows in the back of his own mind, the fact that it feels, from a human perspective, as if some big mistake is going on.
like i'm in god's petrie dish, and all this is only a part of something else much bigger beyond present human comprehension of the concept at play in his mind.. anyone?.

Paradise Earth; An interesting Question for JWs
by badboy in.
if there is no aging in paradise earth, expail something to me.. one of the reasons we age and die is because the mitochondrial cells convert items(food???
) into energy, this produces free radicals/toxins which damage the cells, the cells have to produce these toxins to do their work.. in a paradise earth, how will the body produce the energy without damaging the body's cells.. i am interested in any answers.. .

No, no no, Justlilol'....The two year old will grow to about 30, and stay there. Meanwhile, your mother-in-law will grow younger...also has her sites set on 30. It will be a race between the two of them to see who gets to 30 first! HbH

Sick kids at the KH
by Sadie5 inthis always irked me, when little children were brought to the meetings and they were sick.
i remember one little girl would cough through an entire meeting.
they brought her like that for months, they said they didn't know what was wrong with her.

This always disgusted me...and not just sick kids at meetings, but the sick adults, to. I remember one brother shaking my husband's hand while saying, "Don't get too close. I've got a bug." He had a fever, and sure enough, my husband and I got sick as a result. He missed a day from work. This isn't rocket science. If not for the brainwashing, any idiot would know to stay home when sick. A question for believers in God
by expatbrit inif you believe in god, then i'll make the assumption that you think god is a force of "good", and his commandments reflect this "goodness.
based on that assumption, would you say that god's commandments are good because: god commanding them makes them good?
orgod has knowledge of the inherent goodness of certain commandments, and selects them because of this goodness?.

It is adaptive to believe we answer to a higher authority, to think there is more beyond life as we know it. If we accepted that life ends when neural activity ceases, we would face the futility of it all, and likely would not procreate. It is adaptive for our species to procreate, so we make up reasons to justify it. This is my not-so-optimistic opinion, subject I hope, to change. HbH

Julien: I smiled as your list brought those treasures to mind. I am too old, I guess. I just can't recall them until I see them in reruns. I know that, sight unseen, i am in love with the show's writers. HbH

JWs Assigned to Fetch Lost Sheep Here?
by HomebutHiding ini have been pondering the whys of jws who regularly, and not-so regularly post to the board.
the possibility then struck me that maybe they are assigned--have special dispensation--to associate here in order to retrieve any "misguided" or "lost" sheep and bring them back into their fold.
or are they, thenselves, on the edge, wanting the freedom we now have?
