his body was found today and the plano police department called me.

A question for those of you who were raised in the cult
by siegswife inwhen i was a jw, i often found myself wishing that i would have been a jw from birth.
that way i would've avoided many of the mistakes i'd made in my teenage years.
now, after reading so many of your stories i've realized that many of you didn't really believe it when you were young.

LOL I think I fit into the "whacked" catagory.
I used to feel that some of the younger people were somewhat standoffish. At the time I thought it was because I wasn't a lifetime member so there might have been some suspicion that I wasn't "strong" enough (even though I was a gung ho witless).
Reading the stories here, I thought that maybe it was because they didn't believe it themselves and were living a double life. It's interesting to realize that there was even a degree of jealousy that they never got a chance to live outside the borg. I never would have thought that in a million years at the time.
You're right about filling a void. I'd been feeling so bad for so many years that finding "the truth" *gag* was like getting a second chance at life. To be honest, becoming a JW and subjecting myself to the control of the bOrg did help me gain some self discipline. I guess it's the same sort of effect the military has on some people.
It really broke my heart when I realized I was deceiving myself once again, but as the saying goes "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

If Jehovah's Witnesses Weren't So "Cultish," Would You Have Remained A JW?
by minimus ini see that millions of people belong to a religion yet may be non-practicing.
there are home baptists, catholics that go to church just once a year, and others that are not considered "devout" but still are members of a certain religion.
if the witnesses were much more relaxed in their approach as to how they enforced their views and gave people more "normal" rights so as to believe or not believe certain things, could you see yourself totally out of this religion?

I don't think I would have. What you've identified as the cultish behavior didn't really bother me at the time. My problem with them was doctrinal in nature and I just couldn't continue to adhere to lies.

Where'd you sit in the KH?
by DblOSmith inour hall has 3 sections of seating, we always sat in the left section all the way in the back if possible heh.
it's funny: it seemed like all the foreign people, immigrants, etc, sat on the right side, all the "goody goods" sat in the middle, and all of the um "shady" people... all the people i would think would become defectors sat on the left.
hehe.

I love alot of people. I don' t make love to alot of people (anymore). It's quite possible to love more than one person...I think it's preferable.

Isaiah's Prophecy- Light for all Mankind??
by joe_from_kokomo ini don't know if anyone else has posted this yet, but i must say, that the isaiah's prophecy books are the most boring drivel i have ever had to endure.
i don't know which member of the writing department or the gb wrote this 2 part set, but i have to say that it is super-duper-dull beyond words.
perhaps the author suffers from alzheimers and forgot that he wrote the same thing again and again and again... .

I'm going to tell you (and everyone els in the exJW community) something I never told anyone else.
When I was a child, my mother raised us (me and my siblings) in the ways of the occult. I can do your chart, baby. Anyway, my sister was/is a medium, and we had alot of seances when I was a kid.
One of them was different, in that my sis was "in" and said she was on a spacecraft...it was weird. Different, because usually we connected with the ''dead", not the extraestrial "living". On the way home that night (we were at my sis' boyfriends) we all saw a quarter sized light go UP into the sky. There were 5 of us there and we all saw it, and we all will testify to this day that it scared the s**t out of all us. We RAN home that night.
I believe that I don't have a clue as to what is possible.

So What's Your Porn-Star Name? (Fluff, BTW)
by Englishman inyou take the name of your favourite pet as the first part of your porn-star name, then you take your mothers maiden name for your porn-star surname.. which makes me...george bennet, hmm fairly ordinary i suppose... but her ladyship becomes...poppy male...ah, it works sometimes then!.
this could be good.

If I use my favorite pet it would be "Bandit Ludy"
Using my other pets: "Princess Ludy" or "Vishious Ludy" (I know it's not spelled that way. The pet is a fish..ious). I think I'll chang the "Ludy" to "Lady" and pick the porn name of "Vishious Lady". Kinda kinky but not as stinky...LOL
