There's something I don't understand about all this. If the concept of a god is a creation of man, doesn't that tell you something? Why would man create this god if it wasn't for the purpose of deceiving and holding power over other men? Could it be that they believed this to be for the 'greater good'?
Of course, I personally do believe in God, but I'm really trying to understand this. If God doesn't exist, then that means that all the killing and hate that take place in his name is really the work of men, doesn't it? What does that say about mans potential for working out good in groups? If they really do believe in a lie, does that mean that lies themselves are more powerful than mans intellectual capacity? Doesn't the fact that men are quite capable of hating in the name of god mean that their capacity for hate is greater than that of love? How can something nonexistant be the source of these things?
If God and Satan don't exist, then all of the heartbreak and injustice that has taken place throughout the centuries comes only from men. On what do you then base your ideas that men without religion could be so much better?

OK, This is what I have to say
by peacepipe ini need to put my two cents in about this even though i'm reading it a couple days after the last post.. when i think of the death of those i care about i usually have no problem picturing them going to heaven forever: some people just to me seem like there is nowhere else they could be.
those who i've been close to that have died that i'm questionable about them actually going to heaven i feel like in some way as long as there are those of us here to remember them they are still kept alive somehow.
when i really think about my own death i have a panic attack.

I'm glad to hear that this monster was brought to at least a semblance of justice. I'm sure that she felt strengthened by the love and support that she received from everyone involved.

rambles in the storm....
by Deacon inhow far down the path is it before the changes take place.
im pretty sure its different for everyone.
the time taken to recognise that things have changed permanently...depends on factors like acceptance, circumstances and willingness to deal with it.. im talking about the realisation regarding the wtbt society.

During my dark post bOrg (that is soooo right on) years, I just kept believing that God was the One who wanted me to see the truth about the lies, and that He would't forsake me for NOT remaining in the lie. It took awhile, but I was eventually able to see the Light. Don't stop praying.

The Wachtower Society MUST NOT Exalt Itself
by stevieb1 inread 1 corinthians 1:5-11. therein you will see that christ is the true foundation for the christian, and that paul/apollos (perhaps we could substitute the watchtower society here) are only those who have introduced us to that foundation.
once that foundation is laid the mature christian should not be relying on the teachings of those men for direction but should be building on the foundation by relying on jehovah's direction.
the following quote from a 1984 watchtower article makes interesting reading.. .

I remember from way back when, that some of the articles were very well written and actually did seem to reflect beautiful, truthful, peaceful thoughts. The problem was that just when I'd be thinking how wonderfully true my religion was, somebody would write something that was so blatantly full of CRAP that I felt spiritually assaulted. I think that's part of the brainwashing technique they use. They build you up only to tear you down only to build you up only to tear you down...ad nauseum.

An Apology from Dave Wiltshire to You Know!
by D wiltshire inan apology from dave wiltshire to you know!.
after looking at jude 8,9 i feel i owe you know an apology.. look what it says:.
in like manner not withstanding, these men, too, indulging in dreams, are defiling the flesh and disregarding lordship and speaking abusively of glorious ones.
-

(((From these verses I think this:
1) That when Jude says glorious ones who where being spoken against, that these could even include Satan the Devil.
2) Even Michael wouldn’t call down evil or speak abusively of the Devil, he didn’t even dare the account says)))I think you're right on about this. I think you are right about apologizing for what you said too. None of us has the right to abuse or judge anything or anyone that God has created. Don't we all serve a purpose? What we prove to be in the end is only according to God's understanding of what we've done and why we did it.
