Really, NYT...what joel said. You may be obeying your masters by not discussing spiritual things with apostates, but these same apostates wouldn't be able to be 'active' JW's and ask these questions, would they? Wouldn't they be termed 'apostate' just for questioning the dictates of the Society? Does that mean that God doesn't want His 'true' worshippers to actually obey Him by 'seeking' truth? You guys have all the angles covered, huh? Except when God makes HIS determination...I seriously doubt if there will be a hiding place for the artful dodger's then.

Matthew Makes Another Error
by JosephAlward inthe 1 chronicles author lists the descendents of david; some of these, in order, are jehoshaphat, jehoram, ahaziah, joash, amaziah, azariah, jotham, ahaz, hezekiah, manasseh (1 chronicles 3:10-13 niv).
the matthew author contradicts this genealogy; he leaves out the four consecutive descendents underlined above, and in their place puts uzziah, who he says is jehorams son.
(matthew 1:8-10 niv).

I love this poem...
(((However, love does have conditions. It always has. It's not a mere vapor, but an act.)))
Actions are a *result* of love, not a condition.

Cyril Lykkebo Malka
by Kent inhi folks .
a guy named cyril lykkebo malka, who made a lot of trouble with the danish support group for ex-jws, is making trouble for every ex-jw website who carries material printed by the danish christian newspaper "kristelig dagblad".. malka, it seems, seeks up these sites, and the journalist sends threats to the webowners about removing the material.. on malka's own website, http://www.malka.dk you will find that this joker steals material as anybody else, and he's been stealing lots of material from the watchtower observer, like documents from the hlc, pay attention, and other material.. he never tells anyone where he got the material, but he does write some interesting stuff:.
he publishes material printed in african newspapers (translated), and tells his readers kristelig dagblad has printed this story "slightly changed"!.

Hi! I'm Lea, and I haven't been long to this anti-cult/JW stuff, but I have an observation...(or should I say a suggestion?)
It sounds to me like all of ya'll work very hard to expose the detrimental effects of cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses. This is very inspiring and REALLY helpful to alot of people. WHY would you allow the same type of suspicion and egotistical behavior that you are fighting, hinder the progress that you can make?
It sounds to me that there are some egos at work here (not only Cyrils, sorry for spelling it wrong) and misunderstandings (with a language barrier, that can happen) and downright suspicion (how lucrative IS the cult busting business?). Why don't you just try to focus on what your true purpose is and see if you can't get over some of these obstacles?
Love what you're trying to do!

On decorating trees
by Yerusalyim inas liza, the kids, and i were decorating the christmas tree last night, my mind went back to our first christmas together 6 years ago.
one of the first questions liza asked was "you're not going to put up a tree, are you?
" typical jw conditioning.

Christmas...what is my Christmas...I'm very ambivalent about Christmas. Don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with JW crap, it's more about personal history and econimics.
As a kid, Christmas was a time for the old man to get drunk and...well...Christmas Eve was usually a time of tears. For that reason, the JW prohibition never really affected me. My sons were allowed to spend Christmas with their dad and his family and my nonJW family, so they didn't really miss out and I didn't miss it either. I didn't agree with the Societies reasons for not celebrating it, but it was no sweat off my back. I thought my misgivings might be imperfection on my part...lack of understanding...*sigh*
Now...I honestly like Christmas except for one thing. I never feel like I can do enough. I have loads of kids(not all mine) that I like to buy for (about 15 or so), not to mention the adult kids and sisters and brothers and....you get the picture. We're not rich by any stretch of the imagination, and start feeling like the grinch because of having to worry about it...but...by Christmas, everything is usually under control and I realize that I shouldn't have worried about those things to begin with.
Traditions? There you go....LOL

I think that if you truly love her, and willing to put forth the effort, you should combine what six, teejay, si and larc said. Her sensibilities would have to kick in.

it's great to be free
by javagal inwell i promised myself i wasn't going to let my jw parents in on what the borganization is holding back from them but i did it today anyways... i couldn't stand one more minute of their "wonderful" religion and how terrific it all is so i said that i was watching the news (this forum is quite informative - could be called news :) ) and then told her the entire story about the un and the jw's involvement with it.... but of course she can't believe that and if it is true there must be a reason for it.
i said i couldn't think of any reason to be part of the "disgusting thing"....that was completely true i didn't tell her that the disgusting thing was the wtbts not the un... so anyways long and short of it is that she is going to have to wait and see if it is tru.
she is certain the watchtower will explain why very soon and if not it doesn't matter she knows that she is in the right organization.

Class Action Lawsuit
by mikepence ini am seriously considering finding out what is involved in putting together a lawsuit against the wts.
one that all xjw's in the us can join in.. has the wts not violated our civil rights, taken away our right to choose, without bias, how to live our lives?
were not our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness violated?
