never heard of that before...wouldn't surprise me though. I'd like to know also where they got the information to do this kind of thing...

Despite
being with a small group of teen friends he approached the man and started up
a conversation focused on the Paradise Earth with the hope of everlasting
life promised by Jehovah God.These kids must be bad association...if they were strong in the truth, they would be inciting others to love and fine works!!!

simon: it does locking
http://www.bitbybit.dk/mysqlfaq/changes.html?gr=Concept&keyword=Lockingif you don't like mysql, there's also other alternatives like postgresql and borland interbase
also, about modifying the OS, you'd be surprised how many people do it. There's a mailing list for kernel development, and even though there's still a lot of kernel hackers not subscribed to it, the daily digest of the mailist list is always over a megabyte.
if you still don't believe me, here's 60 pages of modifications individual people have made the the OS...and this is by all means not an exhaustive list.

SYN: just curious, but do you visit somethingawful.com a lot? your post made me think of jeff k :p

I've only been to two concerts...
Summer Sanitarium Baltimore, MD 1998?
Metallica, Korn, Kid-Rock(bleh), Powerman 5000, System of a Down
Anger Management Tour, DC, December 2000?
Godsmack, Limp Bizkit
Godsmack was very good in concert...I don't really listen to much of their music recently, though I do have both their CDs. Now I mainly listen to Smashing Pumpkins (I have all their CDs and tons of bootlegs), the Cure, RATM, RHCP, older No Doubt, the occasional SOAD, and Offspring (older, of course).

here's a couple links:
http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/1995/5/1/poor_wait.htm
How long will such poverty afflict mankind? The appeal of Federico Mayor, director-general of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization), is appropriate: "Let us abandon that dubious tolerance which allows us to tolerate the intolerable—the poverty, hunger and suffering of millions of human beings."

You only have to pay for it if you want it in a box with a manual and everything. Nothing's stopping you from burning the cds yourself, or even going to www.cheapbytes.com and buying cds with it on it for like 5 bucks if you don't wanna download off your 56k.

Farkel: I don't try to be...I think people that who have actually talked to me don't think that way. Computers/UNIX/security just happen to be my forte...i've worked very hard for what I've learned and done, and I'm proud of the software I write...what's wrong with that?

nope, it works with DX8...check out transgaming's homepage for more info about it and screenshots of max payne running under winex. Mandrake 8.2 is out now(if you use the secure kernel for it, you'll be using my software haha)...you'd probably have better luck with using that. If you use wine grab the latest cvs snapshot (or winex if you use that).
