  Where Adam and Eve Vegan/Vegetarian?

  jws seem to firmly believe that before the flood mankind eas vegan or at least vegetarian.. however, in gen 1:24,25 it says that god created livestock (domestic animals) and beasts of the eart (wild beasts).. why would adam and eve need livestock if they were vegan and naked?

  wouldn't need wool or hide for clothing, nor meat for food.

  possibly for dairy products only?

  there was a time they preached the great tribulation was a short period of time between the fall of babylon and jesus coming back to save them, now they realize there are difficult years ahead of us, watch this latest morning worship video by per christensen on this subject .

  Their great tribulation could well be when they go broke due to the CSA payouts or the loss of their charity status.....or both.

  Covering up bathroom mirrors at the assemblies!!!

  this was one of the craziest things i remember about the summer conventions.

  i would go into the sister's bathrooms and the mirrors would all be taped up with brown paper so that we couldn't look at our reflections.

  were were amish or something?

  Women's queues are longer simply because they don't only use toilets for Nr1 and Nr2, they also menstruate and need to use the facilities to change pads, tampons or cups. Duh

  i grew up a jw but my parents were not regularly attending services at a kh.

  they used to, and were thoroughly indoctrinated though.

  as is the jws habit of visiting non-attenders, 2 sisters came to my mom and dad's door one day to inquire of our well-being.

  No advice but those sisters are guilty of slander and are actually false witnesses, which even in 'the world' is against the law. Maybe they need reminding of that...

  What would happen to a JW for celebrating Christmas?

  I remember an elder in a neighbouring cong, a genuine gentleman, used to visit some of his elderly and lonely return calls on xmas or boxing day, and he'd quite happily accept a sip of whiskey while he was there 😅

  Growing up as a JW and now raising my own children with birthday celebrations and xmas, I have learnt how important these celebrations and holidays are for forging strong family ties, not only immediate family but also extended family. I barely know any of my aunts, uncles or cousins because we never socialised with them, either because they were not jws or they weren't 'good enough ' jws.

  The JWs, to my mind, are working in direct opposition to Jesus commands to love your neighbour. They'd rather preach to strangers, than save their own relatives. Many of them will do anything to NOT have to look after elderly parents or grandparents, including moving overseas to 'serve where there's a greater need'. No family ties for them whatsoever. They're married to jw.org.

  Child Sacrifice and Exodus 22:29

  im not a bible scholar - lets just get that out the way first.

  i recently came across exodus 22:29, which is an interesting scripture that seems to require israelites to sacrifice their firstborn to god.. i searched this forum and cant seem to find any topic about it so i thought id start one and see what you guys think.

  im sure it probably has been discussed here already, but i cant find it.. anyway, exodus 22:29 says:.

  This is an interesting read about Jephthah. The writer of Judges doesn't say how God received the sacrifice, but the explanation above seems sensible.

  Jephthah doesn't come across as someone who actually knew the God of Israel, he was an outsider, the High Priest should have annulled the vow as unlawful under the Mosaic Law, but he didn't.
