Well done, Aniron. Glad to see some at least aren't buying what the health-nazis are selling! Having watched margarine go from "good" to "well, let's not talk about it", salt beginning to creep back, and even MSG (albeit under the heavily disguised form of "umami") gaining some acceptance, I take the latest dietary fads (or even the older ones) with a grain of my favourite seasoning. I find that whenever I've tried to cut down down on meat (in the old days when I still believed aspects of the Hippy philosophy), I always felt weak. Unless I've had something sourced from a deceased animal, I continue to do so. Okay, I can't speak for everybody, just myself. I find that most given wisdom in the realm of dietary health doesn't work with me.

Changing your diet - meat, dairy, sugar
by Pleasuredome ini have just finished reading 'confessions of a kamikaze cowboy' by dirk benedict.
in the book he talks about how 'macrobiotics' (exclusion of meat, sugar, dairy among others) helped improve his health and fight cancer.
a lot of what he says about food resonates with me, so im curious.

Floating Corpses will Point North says Golden Age Doctor
by VM44 infrom the golden age issue of april 30, 1930:
"it is stated that if a human corpse is left on a float in a tank it will inevitably turn with its head to the north.
even through the lifeless body the lines of magnetic force will go in the direction they prefer.

Shouldn't the natural orientation of a corpse be to the East?

I still can't believe the compartamentalism of the average JW on blood !
by 5go ini mean the po said this and that substance is made from blood and is ok for jw to take.
but still you can't have blood or primaries.
no one in the audience batted an eye.

You can't eat a whole orange, but you can eat its segments.
Only 30% of dubs filled out those stuipid forms.
If true, that is indeed encouraging.
What's with the stupid form, anyway? Why not just let people argue with emergency room staff as their conscience permits, and if they're unconscious, then whatever happens, transfusion or not, is Jehovah's will? Oh, I forgot, the doctrine was adopted in order to keep the Dubs controversial after the draft died down at the end of WWII.

JC Committee: Why did you allow them to give you whole blood?
Dub: I asked them for fractions only; they must have forgotten to break it down first!

Governing Body Going After eBay
by Gary1914 inhello everyone.. i don't if this has been posted before.
if it has i apologize, but maybe my version will add to what is already known.. my brother is a district overseer.
the society sometimes places conferences calls to do's, co's and other overseers, especially when it is something that they do not want to put in writing.

The "stealing books from Kingdom Hall libraries" could be a reference to Richie RIch's little escapade, whereby he purloined a "Flock" book. Which kinda negates SlimFatArse's contention that Bethel never reads this site.

JW's and cosmetic surgery?
by missk_ensington indoes anyone know what the watchtower view is on cosmetic surgery?
more specifically, breast enlargement?.
thanks!.

This brought back a memory. The Dubs really do hate cosmetic surgery and usually don't hesitate to harp about it in the mags. Except one time - an article on cosmetic surgery to allow Down's Syndrome kids to look a little less different. You could tell the writer really didn't like the idea, but through gritted teeth admitted that it was kind of reasonable "if you must!", so long as it didn't interfere with "more important things".

Coeur d'Alene Idaho, this is where we call home. It's got everything you wanted in your list, and....I'm in the mortgage business, hehe. Can help you out if you need it.
You might be seen as more trustworthy if you weren't using a second rate pirate as your avatar! LOL
Based on the wish list presented, in my mind, New Mexico came to mind . Maybe something on the outskirts of Albuuerque.
New Mexico is a beautiful state.
I hear Albuquerque can be a tricky place - one wrong turn on your way to Miami Beach, and who knows where you'll turn up!

Anything above cantelope size needs to be personally inspected by the BOE, and a certificate of structural soundness issued.
Inspection and certification process to be repeated every three months, in order to make sure the congregation is in good shape.
