No-one said that anyone has to reveal anything to anyone. Someone simply asked a question. Is that any reason to start making threats? Maximus, you are too important and what you do is too important to deprive those who depend on your snippets of inside info about how the Borg is being undermined to give them hope that this is not all in vain. I've never been a Dub, so your leaving is not likely to hurt me in any real way. It will however be a damned shame for those who have come out and see your efforts as a beacon of hope, and simply want to ask questions about one who has done so much for so many. If my previous post offends, then I am sorry - my intention is not to do so, as it is not the intention of those who simply ask questions to do so either.

Of course not! This "we will tell you what is important and you will keep all idle speculation to yourselves" attitude sounds awfully like the attitude of the FDS you're trying to undermine! Okay guys, what you're doing is important and must be kept secret; is it any excuse for being rude and dismissive towards people who simply want to know the truth? Inquiring minds and independent thinkers are bound to ask these questions - would you, like the 'Tower, like to suppress that natural urge?

as a neophyte atheist/evolutionist (possibly) it seems as if the above references to 'christian, bible-trained' conscience imply some superiority to others of humans' consciences.

by h2o ini was speaking to a friend who is a j.w and asked her a couple of questions,the first one was that if god created everything perfect why did he give a bird wings when it is to heavy to fly ie:the ostrich,my second was that when the great flood receaded and all life was destroyed what did the lions,tigers and all the other meat eating animals do for food,the answer she gave me was that they ate plants and things?was she winding me up?im still waiting for the ostrich answer.

They don't get it, do they? The "wordly" ones will be more impressed by a lot of testimonies to a man who was much loved and sorely missed by the people left behind; there is no better "witness" than kind treatment by the religion which claims to care for the deceased. Refusing to "worship the creature" in this manner will only turn people away - to call it a "witness" and pretend it's a "hook" to catch the attention of unbelievers is totally dishonest. Those unbelievers will be offended by the lack of regard their loved one got from the JWs.
