over the course of decades as a jw, an elder, a bethelite, then learning ttatt and wanting to leave, i'd collected a lot of insight into the power of "confidentiality.

" although the confidentiality in a judicial hearing is supposedly to protect the sinner, in actuality, i saw that it was about control and was protecting the power of the jc.. i didn't use any of this knowledge until i was called before the boe because the other elders figured they had grounds to remove me as an elder.

it was a work situation that only lasted a matter of hours, but it was enough that they seized the moment.

Billy, I want to say, Bravo! There are people on JWN, I must look at their threads, others have lost their gift of telling a story or helping us live through the actual events that transpired in the writers life, not you, you have a great gift!

You bring out deep emotion in us and especially those who were wrongly charged with lies to have them step down from Pioneer to as high as some men like Ray Franz. Please stop writing so good, just when I am about to head to Bloomberg to review things I see your post and now I am lost in thought and pissed off at how calloused and lying your elders were.

Yet you don't leave us with anger, you add a nice sweet treat to your readers with the story of a kind, good CO who tells you the reality of interacting with the Organization and how you both had some meaningful conversations about how screwed up the Organization is. I hope the CO found some type of peace and Lord Jesus Christ got him a good job (I know your a atheist but allow me to dream that CO got a job by Jesus Christ for being loyal to him!).

Making a Last Will and testament for ex JWs

so you survived the wts upbringing and despite a bad start managed to put your life back together and plan for the future:.

pension planning and general finance for ex-jws.

sadly, you may find yourself still at a disadvantage as you lack the support group of friends and family that many rely on and could be cut-off even from immediate family.. but it can't get any worse can it?.

I think my post was lost on this thread, quickly I will tell you I got rid of my Will and changed it to a "Living Trust" and it is clear I have removed anyone with JW affiliations from my property in case I die.

Do you know how stupid I was, I had them taking everything if I died with all my kids in some strange accident. I have felt the wrath and hatred of the Witnesses, my anger was not at the Organization when I began to loose my faith. I saw so much wickedness covered up by the locals and Circuit Overseer. The Branch Elders I was in touch with seemed to care too much about protecting the Organization from liability than giving the sheep comfort and loving kindness and spiritual support.

We were told to keep our hands out of one case, the elders were told in absolute clear terms to not "talk to certain JWs who were victims of a child hunter" because they were terrified of the exposure to lawsuits, what about going to the "older men in James?". The Watchtower supercedes the Books of the Bible when it comes to spiritual comfort, by showing love and mercy they could have opened up a door to a lawsuit. Do you want your money going to money-grubbing buffons who care not for the sheep, please change your Will or get a "Living Trust" because they are cheap and allow you to change things much easier and remove unloving and evil people out of your Estate!

When Did Dr. Alexander Hislops Become A Pariah to the Watchtower Society?

i am going to be speaking to the 45-55 years old plus generation here.

i bought my first copy around 1980, it was the thing to do because it proved most of christendom's believes came from nimrod, and by the end of the 1980s the book and the name faded away into oblivion.. .

the watchtower use to print that book or distribute it, am i correct or has my memory gotten bad?

Babylon the Great Has Fallen, I read the book and thought "Oh my, how grand our writers at Bethel and the Slave are!" and now how much of that book is considered valid or cogent?

Satanus I had some strange Moon Dreams, maybe it's something to do with the Babylon book, or my fried Moonpie recipe or this weekend's upcoming "Super Moon"? The last time I bought the "Two Babylons" book was for $35 through a book store in the late 1980s or early 1990s so I could be sooo sharp with theocratic knowledge.

Side note, who has the best match to Revelation's prophecy? We currently are in a period of time it's possible of time it's being done, the Prophecy "to be unable to buy and sell unless you have a mark". When I first started following ADSX in the 1990s under a concept-company like (IWSY) is currently (Biometric tech via your cell phone, chips for pills you take, facial rapid recog, ect..) I thought the Born-Againers were correct because ADSX's goal was to put all your information on a chip into your body. They would eventually win the right to put it inside your pet, was it ethical to make 20x my money thinking I was betting against Born-again theology?

The Society was teaching the "mark" was rejecting the Nazi symbol in Germany, Cartilla in Mexico, Political Card in Malawia, NGO affliation World Wide would be guilty of receiving the "Mark of the Beast 666", the Born-Againers are correct in my opinion of how Revelation has been unraveling itself.

I heard on the radio tonight in UK, the biggest Grocer is going to unload all ther "Club Card" data into the Ministry of Health's computer system to help create a menu and track healthy habits.

Venezuela is using "cards" to deny people certain goods that are scarce, you slide your "club card" and if you bought a gallon of milk you during a certain time frame, if it's too soon, the system will reject you purchase! Late night radio is my source on these two goodies!

They use to qoute Hislop's selectively until the book was considered religious quackery and they dropped him like a lead balloon. I was told by some at Bethel when more scholars looked into the merits of "The Two Babylons" Hislop's material was not historical as he claimed and it turned out to be fantasy, like the "Revelation, the Final Climax" book. Franz and Hislops had two things in common, they both had great minds to write religious fiction with limited facts or no facts at all.

Two To Five Year Faders, How Often Do Your JW Friends Who Promised To Die 4 U, Check Up on You?

they had the love of jesus christ so deep, they would do anything to make sure we stayed aboard the patterson ark.. .

We saw the "Faithful Slave" Russell was deleted from the Class to a Second Tier "John the Baptist Class" ((The least member in the Kingdom of God would be greater than John the Baptist (Brother Russell-Founder of the Organization and Financial Backer)) which means the Governing Body is disloyal to the men who started up their business back in the 1880s. All the "Angel Capital Investors" are not longer "Angels" in the eyes of the Bernie Madoffs and, World-Con and Enron Executives of the Brooklyn Heists.

Now back to the thread, to those who have been fading over two to five years, how often do those brothers and sisters check up on you? Some of you gave jobs, money and homes to help these "fair weathered friends", for the sake of the newbies, please tell us how long it's been since the "Most Loving JWs have checked up on you and seen how they can help you out!"

Thanks for helping all the new members here on JWN, they need to know the truth about the lack of love that exists in this Mock Christian Church!

the only reason i am posting this is because i know many of you are going or will be going through something similar and wonder if it is worth it.

i personally feel that it is worth it regardless of what i lose.

I was asked by my cousin why our family was so fragmented and why they refused to go to the giant family reunions. Easy to reply "It's because we were told to keep worldy family contact to a minimum, we were not supposed to attend a giant Family Reunion with three hundred people from all over the Country.

"Our true family was the Jehovah Witness Church goers who were not the most loving and kind!" I told my cousin the truth", I said "We were told unless we had the chance to preach and there were willing and listening ears, than we could possibly show up with our book bags to preach. The "Tower" told us we had a the biggest family, they promised the biggest lie ever that our Jehovah's Witnesses Church Members would pick up the slack where we lost our worldy-family." How many of you out here past the Five year Fade Mark, have any of these great family JW friends we were told would die for you?

To this my cousin said "I noticed throughout the years you and your parents never stayed in touch much with all the brothers and sisters, and I don't understand why they were so aloof!" So, after sixty years of following this lie they have nothing to show for this other than their poor health, "body training is beneficial for little and watching TV is great for all!" I made peace with my cousin and explained that I am no longer part of this Organization and I am waiting on two things before I burn my bridge down to the ground. I have had success under the stealth mode putting in my fair share of doubts in active Witnessses lives, I actually have thrown a few into a tailspin and they have not made it to meetings for some time now. Would you be better off with your Mother if you played the part and pretended (theocratic warfare) until the time is right to make your move instead of battling it out with the Elders?

There is nothing to gain but your mother and father, I know many parents with great JW kids who refuse to talk to them unless they think their parents are about to die and a inhertance is close by. I hope you make the right choice for your health and minds and heart's sake, you will overcome this trial too!

EVIDENCE that Christians fled Jerusalem after 66 CE ...?

what the ot says ... what sources of evidence do we have that account for the 'great escape' of the christians from jerusalem after cestius gallus siege of 66 ce ?

do we have any christian prespective about it?

Eden, you read the Preterist article on Pella, what more data did you uncover than that author did? You are using his same qoute of Eusebious's qoute of the older Christian who was not far in time relatively speaking from the actual event.

Why did St. John leave out the destruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem? That's one of those areas that make things tougher on a Christian than need be, St. John could have mentioned that and there must be a reason why he did not. His Four letters are quick, I wish I knew why he did not mention such a massive event that threw the Jews into the Disapora for the next Two Thousand years or less.
