Anybody watch Ghost Hunters last night?

on ghost hunters revelations (yes, my wednesday guilty pleasure) grant said he was religious.

but when people have haunting problems and tell the "congregation" most of the time they are "shunned" by other members.

he was happy to be able to provide help to those whose religion turned them away.. i thought it was interesting, maybe he was a witness.. momz.

Like you and Momz....I have had more than a few experiences with the paranormal.....and I am also a Christian. I certainly do not see any indication of where one thing cancels out the other. I have not mentioned a lot of them here, since we always get inundated with the naysayers that express their opinions on these things, doing it with a condescending attitude and not in the interest of asking questions, etc. It kind of sours me on wanting to share something that I KNOW will result in getting a nasty and mean-spirited response....

I occasionally watch that other program you mentioned....the one from Great Britian. I get a bit tired though, of the "please come out and show yourself or DO SOMETHING for us to show you are here".....and then any little noise they hear---they screech and squeal for the camera (like little girls)....I feel it is a bit contrived. I far prefer the Rhode Island TAPS, LOL!

I wonder what ever happened to "Medium" with Patricia Arquette? New shows in Prime Time seem to have disappeared! I can't believe that NBC could have cancelled that!

I just can't "get into" the Ghost Whisperer on Friday nights.

They were NOT sent from God. They were NOT under God's view. They ARE NOT in the company of Christ. They just speak. Endlessly.

Seeing as how JWs are under the false impression that they HAVE been sent from God, that they are doing the work of Christ with God's blessing.....they can rationalize everything you have said to suit the WTS agenda.

I cannot recall ONE INSTANCE in my 30 years as a JW, where we were taught to go to people's homes and tell them that Jesus had died for THEM so that ALL could have everlasting life....and that excercising faith IN HIM was what was needed for salvation.

So then what is the "harm" in the WTS message?

It is NOT the message that the first-century disciples heard, accepted, delivered, taught OR believed.

Just finished talking to an old JW friend....

....and it was all that i expected.. she and i were extremely close at one time, but we sort of lost touch with each other over a year or go or so, not getting to talk to each other much within that time frame.

she's a very hardcore pioneer as i once was.

i think that's why we got along so great.

After an accumulation of 30 years of "friends" and discovering that the WTS was NOT "the truth" and never HAD been.....I got ONE email in return to all those I sent my DA letter to with my reasons for leaving.....and I was not that "close" to her but she had an email addy and knew a lot of JWs everywhere.

Those that I considered myself as being close to (including a daughter and other relatives).....never bothered to try and "save me from Satan's clutches". It certainly demonstrated to ME that there WAS "no love" after all.

Their love is shallow, flimsy and is dependent upon following the WTS mindset.

Fairly recently (but then I do watch a lot of reruns, LOL) I saw where he had taken time away from TAPS because of his baby being born....and no one seemed to be uncomfortable with this or seemed to speak negatively about him for doing this.

I don't remember any conversations where he was actually irritating the others or doing anything they were upset at him for....must be before I got interested in the show and could remember what night (and what channel) it was on!

Yup! I watched it AND I caught what he said....a definite "hmmm...." moment for me as well.

I have a question for those that have watched this program for a while......several times Jay and the others have made mention of (was it) Brian? Harnois "messing up" and doing better for a while and then going back to his old ways again. I have never figured out what it WAS that he was supposed to have done and why they are like "watching out" for him not to do "it" again. They talk about it openly and it bugs me because they never elaborate on this, haha!

Does anyone know what happened?

Jehovah's Witnesses Are An Illogical People & They Should Be Embarrassed!

question a witness in a very logical manner about their view of blood transfusions and blood fractions and see what you'll get.. ask a witness where in the bible it states that you can't talk to a disfellowshipped family member unless he or she lived in your home.. ask a witness why they need 2 witnesses to establish that a child has been molested but they don't need 2 witnesses to establish that a spouse has been unfaithful and that the accuser may now be free to "scripturally" remarry.. have a jehovah's witness prove to you that filling out a service report is necessary for a christian to have god's approval.. can you think of other proofs that the witness religion is totally illogical??

To add some more things, what about Jehovah's Witnesses being the happiest people on the planet. They have to constantly be reminded to look and act that way. If they were truly the happiest people in the world, they would certainly need no reminders.

Along with the more obvious and glaring faults with WTS teachings....this is an interesting observation. How many "other religions" can you think of that are constantly harping on the idea that only THEY are the happiest people on earth.....and as you said---- they would not NEED these remainders if they truly felt this.

Shunning a Jehovah's Witness - They don't like it!

an elder who lives nearby has decided to be play the twat with me recently.

i have been out for nearly 2 years, which makes it even more pathetic on his part.. after leaving, this character (thinking i was depressed), would give me the most tactless, thoughless advice that you have ever heard.

he loved 'giving it to me' right outside my house.

Now that I have gotten a bit more courage under my belt and I can FACE UP to a JW when I see one out in public (it's BEEN eight years now) I have decided to look them right in the eye with a big friendly smile and say hello...how ya doing? If they ignore me or say something snotty----I had planned to make it clear to ALL within earshot that THIS is how a JW acts when you leave their religion!

Ever since I had made up my mind to DO this....every time I have seen a JW in the store---they have smiled and acted as if there was nothing wrong!! It has blown my mind because I sure was tired of being made to feel like pondscum! Each time this has happened....there was not enough time to stop and actually ASK them anything...but each one has been friendly acting and smiling. QUITE a change!

I wonder whassup?

My Daugthers refusal to join us for secular holidays!

i don't understand, why my daugther refuses to come to her home during both thanksgiving and christmas.

we are trying to understand her beliefs, and keep an open mind.

we just want her to come and partake of being with her family....during these family times.

Yeah I caught the "secular holidays" when I read the first post....and thought it was an odd way to explain things.....but regardless----kudos to Carla for displaying all those websites for anyone that may see the need to look into them.

After four years of putting up with nasty accusations and untrue comments made by our oldest superfine pioneer married to an elder daughter.....the final straw was when my son had left a message at her home the day I had my first massive stroke and a heart attack....I was in the ICU and I was not expected to live. She never called back sent a card or came up to visit. Three and a half months LATER she was "on business" in our area and called after her plane landed---to see if she could come and visit me.

My hubby asked her what FOR.....it was not as if she had ANY respect (or love) for me and he didn't think we would "pencil her in" for a visit. She was not WELCOME in our home any longer, and he told her all we had heard that she had "secretly" said about us. She asked who told us THAT and he told her it came from her siblings. She hung up in a huff---went home and changed her number to unlisted and has not had ANY contact with anyone else in our family since that date.

You are right.

The haughty and uppity JWs do not LIKE the reverse shunning and react very badly. (Insert a mental image of Outlaw's snickering Dog here ________!)

in answer to the one i sent him..i had sent him some christian tracts .which he admits he has little use for spiritual things ( which i can understand bless him) but he did say he wouldnt throw them away one day maybe!!!.

he said that he agreed with me that an apology is truly in order ,& wanted to take this time & the opportunity to offer an unreserved apology for his conduct on jwd,of which he is both ashamed & embarrassed to everyone there /\....he also added he wished you all a very happy christmas.. .

he added that he has not been on jwd since ....thought i would let you all know.. so any who do pray .
