Although I attended the Springfield South Unit in Springfield, MA....the convention I was assigned to was in Pawtucket RI.....the date was July 1, 1972. I haven't a clue what the name of ther assembly was. (We didn't even have the assembly Hall in Natick back then.)

Sherrie mentioned that MJ was "in the library"........which any nonJW will not have any clue that he was not in the library to check out Watchtower books. JWs all know that "being in the library" carries a lot more along the line of punishment being doled out than being an avid reader!

by oompa inya today they told me they dreamed about a judicial committee that dfd them.........a very long dream......and that later a letter was read that retracted the df..........like that happens often.........but anywoo........ i bet/hope i will dream i am in paradise with 17 concubines tonight.......it could be messy...........oompa.

"It has been a while but I have had a dream where I went back to the KH and was a JW again. In the dream I'm sitting in one of the meeting wondering how I wound up here again and how I would escape the Watchtower this time. It is very much a nightmare."
I have been out of the WTS nearly 10 years now, but I have these awful recurring dreams where I find myself at a meeting and also wondering how in the world I could end there (again). I want SO MUCH to stand up and let'er rip and shout what a cult this is....but I sit there-panic stricken and obedient- and behave my self until I wake up in sheer relief. I averaged these about twice a week until just recently it seems to have dwindled down to about every other week. I'm making PROGRESS....LOL!

The desperation of JWs hoping the end comes "soon"
by sir82 ini'm starting to sense a certain desperation among jws, that they feel that the great tribulation must start soon.
i think this is due, in many cases, to their own personal situation, financial or otherwise.. if the gt doesn't come soon, and these guys really start to suffer - what then?
the watchtower's promises that "jehovah would not forsake them if they put kingdom interests first" by skipping or dropping out of college, turning down promotions, "simplifying" their lives by selling their homes and moving to the hinterlands...will all prove to be meaningless.. if the gt doesn't come soon, and "jehovah" doesn't bail them out...then what?.

NONE of us expected "this old dying system" to go on as long as it has. I walked away from the WTS 9 1/2 years ago after 30 years of loyal servitude and worship of the Governing Body. The thing IS......that this old world is NOT as terrible as we were constantly trained to think it was.....and the people around us, for the most part, have turned out to be kind, warm and helpful no matter WHAT religion they were or I was.
It all depends on your attitude, and if you are nothing but negative, putting your life on hold forever, and never truly ENJOYING what you could BE enjoying because of the direction of delusional old men in Brooklyn......your lives are going to be as empty as the WTS promises have proven to be.
It is the ones who have stepped away from the WTS control, taken a sweet breath of fresh air....and have stopped to smell the roses instead of focusing on the thorns.

Is The MJ Situation Damaging to the WTS
by passwordprotected inwith so many articles and news stories on-line regarding michael jackson, his involvement with the jws and now his children being taken to the kingdom hall, will this damage the reputation of the watch tower society?
many of these articles have comments from exjws telling the truth about 'the truth', plus google searches are throwing people onto freeminds..

I truly hope I am wrong about this, but with MJ's kiddos being photographed going to and from WTS meetings now, and Firpo Carr relating on the TV stations how MJ wanted his kids to be raised as JWs (go figure), that there will be a heavy renewed interest in "all things MJ" and the public will be asking more questions about the WTS way when JWs show up to preach on their doorsteps.
Do not forget the lovebombing routine that these children will also be subjected to, but in due time, I would imagine that they will see through the nonsense and will also feel a real sting in the way Christmas and birthday giving is looked down on by the WTS. There will be even more conflict in the older two children's hearts when they see the hypocrisy within their own family.

Although I am extremely and deeply resentful at all the WTS robbed me of and stole from the six children that I raised in this publishing company masquerading as a religion.....I do have to admit that I was was always quite shy in front of strangers. I was terrified to give the current events all through my school days.
Being in that "Theocratic Ministry School" did help me learn how to speak in public and to do the "pitch-pause-pace & volume" thingy when I had to make presentations in front of the School Board concerning the rights of Special Ed kids that they were not properly addressing. Getting the audience to recognize a "common ground" and to make eye contact with various ones in your audience, was invaluable as well.
So I guess I can say that despite all that I personally put into the WTS while trying to gain recruits for THEM....I did manage to squeak out something for myself.

Obviously, I do not personally know Katherine Jackson....but apparently, she is a kind and gentle person and people think highly of her. This does not excuse the fact that she did raise her children in the WTS cult and that she did stand by and allow the head of the household to manhandle and browbeat her children...often....and just LOOK how most of them turned out!
We see multiple cases of facial plastic surgery to (drastically) change their appearances and stories of hideous parental behavior from many of them.......not exactly a rousing cheer of approval for Momma's side, now it it? Debbie Rowe seemed to have an "agreement" with MJ to stand back and hand the children over to MJ, more or less the baby producer and not a "mom" in any sense. The other baby (Blanket's) mother might have had the same agreement.....most likely quite lucrative agreements for both of these birth moms.
It is tough to imagine what kind of life these kids will end up having....figuring in the notoriety of their Dad and the bizarre trappings of the Watchtower cult to deal with.
Poor kids.
