Shunning/Ostracising

the past few weeks i have been comnunicating with jw's in my area who attend kh meetings physically but not mentally.

they are "closet apostates" or "double agents".

some are planning to leave the area altogether to avoid the hassles of being shunned.. according to one of these "closet apostates", he believes that 30% if not more of the members in his congregation would leave if it were not for the shunning.

Devon, I have been knocking myself OUT trying to do this----from "letters to the Editor" across the nation, to ANY newspaper forum (I have a list of U.S states, cities & towns' newspapers)but as MILDLY and non-inflammatorily as I "word" these topics, they get deleted......somehow, as MUCH as the average person gets annoyed and irritated by JWs, the deleters-in-wait decide to do their thang and eliminate just about everything I post.

I caption them as "PLEASE READ", or "Save the Kids", or "Who is REALLY at your door?", and I stay up til 3-4 AM posting these things, only to check back at 9:00 AM and find them deleted. I get SO heartsick and frustrated........

I stumbled across a site last week (local, mine) where county issues were discussed, and people were calling each other ***holes and ****heads about a LEASH law, so I figured that MY polite and people-friendly posts about being aware of WHO was at your door offering home bible studies, including the URL for silentlambs....would escape the deleter's axe.........but not so. I could JUST cry!!!

I got so pissed off (I'd had a few great replies on one, and they were deleting my post AS I was answering a reply!!!!)that I posted how foolish it was to suppress important info that could HELP the community.....but maybe they'll feel differently when someone in THEIR family gets sucked in by the WTS and their entire family is negatively affected!

Honestly, I don't KNOW what it will take, politicians, whatever, to get INVOLVED in this mind-manipulation at the doors, freely ALLOWING the WTS/JWs to prey upon unsuspecting folks and turn their lives and their minds upside down.

How DO we get the Legislators/Editors/TV networks to LISTEN??????

Agnostic Apostate Morals Kick In

despite my response in teejay's "taboo" thread - http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=25580&site=3 - in which i supported the idea of polyamory, i am presently in a relationship which is monogamous by mutual agreement.

i was fascinated and intrigued by the lady, and attracted to her, enough to make that commitment when she explained that it had to be that way or we'd need to go separate ways.. that relationship is presently at a rough spot, one which i described to somebody recently as "that point you reach, where all the spark is gone but you haven't put it out of its misery yet.

" her parents have been visiting from out of state since wednesday (it's saturday as i write) and we haven't seen each other since last monday.

Why not, indeed. Yes, from my jaded point of view (having seen many a relationship come and go, and able now to recognize the signs), it is on its last legs. It may yet rise phoenix-like from the ashes, but I'm not expecting it to (of course, I wasn't expecting to find a woman who interested me as much as she did, either...).<<

Arrested for going kingdumb and dumber hall!

last night (3/21) the mountain view (ca) police arrested me.. this happened as i was attending the sunnyvale congregation service meeting.. i was dfd last july and was told by the elders the conditions for reinstatement were meeting attendance, repentance along with not speaking to anyone or anyone speaking to me (shunning at its finest).

(btw, i was dfd for apostasy).

I commented that this change was against what the Bible actually said.<

Worf, this really makes me smile! This particular topic ate away at me SINCE 1985, when the "change" in wording was made, and it had made me somewhate uncomfortable at ALL baptisms from 1970.

I'm glad you had the courage to actually say things that night, that I WISH I'd said! The old "vicarious" thing for me, LOL!

Why doen't God perform miracles today?

why did jesus do miracles?.

it is alledged that some 2000 years ago a man claimed to be the son of god , or even god himself (depends what religion you are).. in order to give some weight to his cliam he did some miracles, cured a few lepers, made a slap up lunch out of some fish and bread, and took a walk on some water.. all this to prove he was gods son.. but to prove it to who?.

if you ask a witness why god doen't perform miracles today , what do they say.. we don't need miracles today we have it all written in the bible.. der.

I'm not being facetious here, but the very first thing that popped into my head when I read this.......

Was the absolute miracle of being able to sit down in front of a "machine", and at a finger's touch, have the ability to be able to communicate with someone in another part of the world; or to type in a "topic" you've always wanted to know about, and have the "machine" run a search on that topic! Or to be able to send photos, find old schoolmates, research your "roots"; find a recipe for Chicken Marsala, learn "how to" build a picnic table or fix a leaky pipe.....and find people who share your beliefs and understand your disappointments.............

To me, that's a miracle!

A Better Weapon Than Doctrine

the stranglehold of cultish thinking?.

arguing about doctrine may trigger an automatic witness mind.

Beyond that, a better weapon may be exposing Watchtower DECLINE
and DOWNSIZING. While doctrine and clear reasoning may be alien
to most Witnesses, the decay of the organization may be much more
personal and familiar.

Contributions have declined
Publishers going down in Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia
Meeting attendance is going down
Bethel is downsizing
No more subscriptions
Fewer, cheaper books
No food offered at assemblies
Witness divorce
Witness suicides
Elders quitting
Sparse baptisms

and the roundhouse punch,
Witness kids are leaving the 'truth' everywhere in the developed world.

I don't have any JWs that will come within 40 paces of lil ole me, but you sure gave me some interesting points to bring out in my news-forum campaign!!!!

I call it my "cause", 'cause I don't want ANYONE else to be duped by the WTS tactics......
