What was the worst outfit you wore?
by outbackaussie inremember going to conventions during the mid 80's?
sisters all dolled up in lolly-wrapper dresses of sparly taffeta with balloon sleeves and brothers strutting about with shiny grey siuts with narrow lapels and black leather ties?
ooooh what a look that was!

Oh,gezzzz thats sad. That must have hurt?I have my old freinds look at me like they never knew me,but I treat em the same as they treat me.Sometimes I will stand in the same grocery lane, they are in just to let them know,I don't care.I stand there with a smile on my face and they seem to be the ones more uncomfortable than me. heh
I know its harder for people who have family and been involved for many yrs(like I have said many times before)....I had it much easier than many people who have left.
Take care New Boy

another post on Asperger's Syndrome
by terabletera inmulan, thankyou for bringing up this subject.
gawd parents of these children feel so very alone and we often are.. i am constantly in a battle with our small town school and we have made some great changes for future situations but it has cost me dearly.
inability to keep the same job due to the constant battles and needs for my son.

That ticks me off, that people can be so mean towards people like your son.so far the children are wonderful towards Matthew, they love him and all give him hugs ,when he wants one.I don't know what I'd do if older kids are mean to my son. These children look normal and when you get dirty looks from people who don't know a thing about this person...it burns me up.
I understand your feelings.
Take care

creepy thinking
by Vivamus ini just saw president bush on the tv.
he was saying in his very slow way of speaking "we must defend ourselves against the enemies of freedom"and "a great evil is upon the world".
and all of a sudden i had this thought "what if the jw are right..."

Every religion has truth to it...because we all basically read the same book.I hear about armageddon from my born again families and the the JW's.Even muslims believe in Jesus return to earth and mormans.Thats all we are hearing, these are the times of revelation....

Unhappy Believers
by JH in.
did you know any brothers and sisters that attend(ed) meetings regularly, but deep inside seem(ed) to be very unhappy about being a witness?
i ask this question because many people are just blind followers, who don't dare question the leaders and follow like sheep.

I was one of those unhappy people....I also believe people went out of fear.I ask myself if people didn't get DF or they didn't bash the fear of enternal death in our minds, would many people be there?

Christian priorities and holidays
by jurs ineven when i was a jw i thought it odd that witnesses gave so much importance to holidays.
when i was studying, i was bogged down with how awful they were because they are pagan and how wrong it was to celebrate.
it seems to me like more attention was donated to the issue of holidays than what the meat of christianity is.

I celerbrate christmas, because I love it.Its fun and the children are happy.I get together with my family all threw the yr,but christmas just makes it better and better food. I love to buy for other people and yep,I save it for this time of the yr....well,I buy for my children all year around. But the special things are for christmas.I love the lights, the tree, wrapping gifts and watching my family open them. I don't care what pagans did 1000 yrs ago,we turned into something elese.Jesus didn't judge people for their traditions.
