i was at work tonight and we were joking around and talking about old shows we used to watch while growing up.
i thought it would be fun if we wrote a line from a show and see if we could guess what show it came from.
my name is lenny, and if i ain't got it, there isn't any.

who survived..."1975"...,i`m just curious, how many of us,are there?those of us that lived though this, will know what i mean.
I was 19. I had nightmares for years. Our congregation (very small) made a big deal about it. Especially my mom. In '74, I was married. And still terrified. The whole year, I was a nervous wreck. A few years later, the nightmares disappeared. A few years after that, I started partying like it was 1999!!!
Still partying!

i haven't been to a "worldly" funeral...well ever that i can remember.
all the funerals i have been to have been jw ones where they use it as another opportunity to preach to everyone in sight.
they usually make a token mention of the dead loved one and then begin with the resurrection and earthly paradise and how you have to be a jw to get there.. today i went to my aunts funeral.
Xena, my sympathy. I only hope I live that long and I, too, have in my will--no JW funeral. Because I know my mom will try to do that.
When my grandfather died, it was a nightmare. He was a Freemason. Never took off his ring for 50 years. My uncle is also a Mason. My grandmother (JW) decided to give him a witness funeral and remove his ring. My uncle was not allowed in the funeral home. He sat in the car and cried. He didn't speak to my grandmother for 20 years.
The sermon was so cold. I never could understand why all these witnesses were there, when they had nothing to do with him while he was alive. The same with my sister. Oh, wait.......yes i do!!!!
They were counting time!!!!

this has taken a lot of courage to post.
my life with the jws has been one hardship after another.
i am sharing this to help others see that jws claim to be loving and forgiving people while they are not.
Cassi----I love you. You know this!! FUCK pureheart....whose name does not suit her!
What a joke!!
This is the person who thought I was actually with the KKK!!!! I think she's not playing with all her marbles!
You showed more courage posting your story than she could ever hope to.
Don't you dare cry!!!!!

....is an incredible thing to see.
my old work pal leo would do it every works christmas party.
this incredibly smart and dignified gentlemen would raise money for charity by taking bets as to how long he could clench a lighted newspaper between the cheeks of his buttocks.
OMG, COMF, that was too damn funny! Gross, but funny!

while out for my usual liquid lunch, a cup of new englands finest pee week coffee and a pack of grape bubble yumm..... a thought accured to me.. i'm a die hard avid x-files fan.. i can relate to mulder.
i can definately relate to that busty red head partner of his, scully.. my thought was this..... in the last 10 months of digging into wt stuff and opening my eyes to the wretched viel of hypocrisy i've been lead by all my life..... am i really that much different than mulder?
seeking "truth", looking for the hidden agendas, and conspiricys?.
I am an X-Files fanatic! I tape all the shows. Bought the movie. I have books of codes and little known facts. I'm in love with Mulder and Sculley, AND Skinner!!!
I, too, feel like a truth seeker. And believe it's out there, if we can just look long enough to find it. I also loved Millennium. Frank Black was my hero. I taped all the shows. And cried when it was canceled. True, it could have been more Illuminati/Lovecraft, but was good at what it did.
I never watch sit-coms, hate soap-operas. Game shows suck. Except Jeopardy. I watch Outer Limits, CSI (I learn things from this one).
Roswell. Anything that makes me think, learn, and wonder......

of all the holidays, for me halloween has the least appeal.. i have a memory of going trick-or-treating once, at my "worldly" father's insistence (he roasted peanuts in the oven for the door-knockers... i remember), about the time my mom learned the truth.
i must've been about five years old.. despite the fact that i'm a hard-core agnostic and a fear of gods or demons are a non-issue, i still have trouble encouraging kids -- under the guise of costumes and fun -- of extorting treats from neighbors.
can i get a witness?
I love Halloween! I usually have a party and invite all the neighborhood kids. Last year I turned my daughter's basement into a haunted house. Black lights. Spiderwebs. Monsters jumping out of closets. Bowls of peeled grapes.(eyeballs)A six-foot coffin with a live person inside (my older son). An invisible baby named Leroy.
Afterwards I told scary stories in the dark with a flashlight under my face!
Only a few of the kids were crying!LOLhehehe
Here's me as the "Grandma From Hell". It was an all-over mask and the blue thing is a screwdriver sticking out of my eye!
