16How many JW in the 1920's
by xaminewt ini'm trying to find out how many jw there were globally in 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927 and 1928. the watchtower of 1926 says that there were 25,000 in attendance at the magdeburg convention for the public address, but the same watchtower say that one the last day of the convention there were 15,000 present, so i assume at least 10,000 were interested persons - non jw.
the watchtower 1955 says: "for this year of 1927 the number in attendance at the spring memorial internationally was 88,544, yet of these only some 18,602 were active as house-to-house kingdom announcers".
these statistics would seem to imply that the majority of jw in 1926 were at the magdeburg convention.

in the days of israel parents were instructed by jehovah to take such a rebel to the city fathers and they, in turn, took the incorrigible one out and stoned him to death.
there were no juvenile delinquents under such a system.

We had a 16 year old young lady become pregnant in our congregation. She was not baptized, I think she had no intention of being a JW. She became pregnant by a neighbor, not a witness. Her dad was worldly, only her mom was a JW. This girl was treated TERRIBLY by the congregation, shunned, and not given a shower. I brought over a small gift after the baby was born. The girl left home soon after, leaving the baby with her mom. I left shortly afterwards, I don’t know the outcome. This baby is a grown woman now.

as far as public awareness, with regard to the jws, it was basically a big nothing burger.

did the gb say recently that they are to be dead or pulled out of earthly existence before the great tribulation?.

Reddit thread re Oct 2024 WT with picture of window washer - Theme knocking people who Planned
by LongHairGal inthis thread currently has over 300 comments.. it shows a picture of an older man washing a window looking wistfully… then it talks all about how some may have doubts about not having planned and the situation they are in now that they are older, etc.
it refers to others who did plan and who supposedly have ‘apparent’ financial security.
in my opinion, the whole gist of this article is to make older witnesses feel better who did not pursue a career or plan well for retirement.. it tries to imply that those others who planned only have ‘apparent’ financial security - which is to say they don’t (?).

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.
