  Can You Defend Yourself before a J. Committee?

  to those who have been before a judicial committee for apostacy.. the elders will ask you questions not for the purpose of finding out the truth, but to make sure they can df you.. at my appeal hearing serveral months ago i was questioned by the appeal committees to their satifaction, they even thanked me for my honesty, as it helped them get what they were looking for to make the original dfing stand.. after they were finished with their questions i ask if i could now defend myself and prove that i was telling the truth and not a biblical apostate.. the chairman informed me that i would not be allowed to defend myself.. i looked at all 8 brothers(2 committees 5 & 3) in total amazement at his refusal to allow me to defend myself.

  to them(8) it seem perfectly alright not to allow me to defend myself.. wow.. the chairman said they really were not a judicial court and did not need to be that concerned about doing things in harmony with what is concidered to be fair and right by worldly courts or the bible.

  in fact the chairman spent about 10 minutes trying to explain why they didn't have have to be fair in the legalistic way of courts.. .

  My Dad once asked the Elders, "Why is it, when I counsel you, its critisim, but when you counsel me, its scriptual admonition?"

  Be warned...don't open your bible in the presence of an elder to counsel him.

  Can anyone here, emphatically prove, from the bible, that an Elder's shit stinks too?

  well this is the day.. i mentioned to my mum that i read a good book recently about dates, and cronology.. she blew up and told me i was just trying to read anything that attempts to disprove jws.. apparently i am like those apostates, and people didnt want to talk to my because of it.. "this is the truth", she said.. well i am now an apostate.

  Sure people make mistakes, but the same one over-and-over again, dates like 1874/78? 1914, 1918, 1925, I guess there is more. While they, at the same time, are preaching to you about false prophets who predict false dates and then place a small footnote* at the bottom of the page that completely abdicates them of an culpability?

  Freakin' Freddie may have been running the borg since @1920's or since the time his brown nose came risin' outta the water in what, 1914.

  A definite, was Knorr kissing Fast Freddie's ass from the time he became Prez to the time of his untimely callin' to get his tiny little wings and startin-ta-learin-to-fly.

  What is worse was Freddie was almost completely unintelligable. Listening to him talk was like riding a rollar coaster.

  "AAAAAAAAnnnnnnnDDDDDDd whyyyyyYYYYYYYyyyyyyy did God choose the faithful and discrete slaAAAAAAAAaaaavvvvvvvVVVVVVVve?" -more like the discredited slave. He probably tried taking over heaven when he got there. The guy had all the advice on sex, but never even used his penis, well 'cept to piss with. -on our heads!

  I know an Elder personally, who told me he sold his house before 1975 so he could preach down in good-ol' Kentucky USA. When the money ran out he came back. I find it hard to believe, but he says he has no resentments.

  now that i am out i have a hard time understanding why people accept these changes from the society as "new light" and than view it as "truth.".

  when i remember reading the scripture that "satan blinds the minds of the unbeliever.

  " i didn't know that scripture applies to jehovah's witness.

  Very Embarrassing & Funny JW memory!

  i was so clueless when it came to christmas traditions for two reasons.. 1.raised as a witness therefore never experienced it.. 2.grew up in country or rural areas and they didnt practice all the traditions.. ok, so i grow up and eventually find myself living in a large city for the first time in my life.. this makes me sound like a total hick but bear with me and you will see where this is going.. one winter evening i am peacefully watching tv and spending time with my little jw family downstairs and the doorbell rings.. i say its dark who could that be?

  then i go upstairs and open the front door.. there were at least 20 people standing on my front lawn!.

  i am shocked and confused then it registers they are singing christmas carols!!!.

  I didn't know JDubs sacrificed their lives because they don't help celebrate one of the worlds MOST pagan holidays next to Easter.

  Tell me when I visited people in state institutions, prisons, hospices I missed out on something huh? All because it wasn't connected to Christmas. I guess when I went to visit dying patients it didn't count. When I drove 180 miles to support the family when the matriarch died I was being selfish. Because I was doing it as a JDub. When I gave a family $200 so she could feed her kids it didn't count because at the time it was a Jdub doing for another JDub?

  When JDubs go into relief areas to help, granted, their own predominately, that doesn't count either.

  You make such sweeping generalized statements.

  Kids would always tell me how deprived I was growing up because I didn't celebrate Christmas, and I still won't. I used to go through a list and ask them: "Have you ever been to D.C. Halifax, Niagra Falls, Alaska, etc. Do you know people from around the world you can call friends? Have you ever been out on th Bay in your own boat, scuba-diving? Ever been to Newport to the beaches and or mansions(only 20 miles away)? How 'bout New Hampshire to the white mts?" THe list could go on. To each one 99% of the kids I asked that they said, "NO". To me it sounded like they were the ones deprived.

  My Dad my be an A-Hole at times but have you ever rented an apartment (for peanuts) to someone who didn't have a home because their old place burned down, or simply because they didn't have enough money or lend money without expecting to get a return. Not once or twice but a dozen times?

  Go ahead and criticise me, I know you will, simply because of the direction I'm coming from. I'm not kissing Your asses. You immediately jump on a person when you think they are a JDub. Well, I think I would rather be a JDub than be the likes of you sumbitches.

  my son and daughter from my previous marriage have just been kicked in the teeth by witness teaching.

  they have never ever been jws, which makes it worse imo.. they have just been dumped by their jw grandfather, dumped by their uncle, dumped by their aunt.

  when my dfd ex-wife lost her mother a couple of years back, her jw sisters and brother decided to put a stop to my exs alienation.

  Funny you say it is a typical JW response. It's not. It's a typical BORING (JW basher) response. That's why I conclude many here, are full of shit.

  Why? If it's ONE of YOUR kind (those that are part of the Kiss-ass clubs here, those who "rate", those who are "credible") you ignore the spelling. -rightfully so.

  But if the spelling/grammer mistakes are from a typical JW, many, and I mean many here, discredit their ideas just for simple spelling mistakes. I've seen it many times. It's like, is that the best you people can come up with? (yeah ending a sentence with a preposition, how 'bout that)

  Hurts when the shoe is on the other foot doesn't it?

  All I am trying to establish is, is the treatment of JDubs. If JDubs get treated a certain way then it is ONLY fair that people here getted treated the same way. Like-for-Like. If people here can dish it out, they should be able to take the same treatment. right?

  Nope, that's pretty uncommon, except amongst JW's.

  funny you make a general statement with nothing to back it up. Do you read the papers? Family breakdown, communication, even talk T.V., even the movies can reflect real society. People DO tell their kids to get out. And I have never, ever, known a JW family to throw their kids out. Whereas I have seen it repeatly in newscasts. Some, in extreme cases, even having to shoot their own kids to protect the rest of the family. Where do you live? Utopia? Because I want to live there...with Laurel and Hardy.

  Do You Still Believe a God Cares for You?

  i've been a part of this forum for about one month, and during that time i've been struck by the willingness of many so former jehovah witnesses either to ridicule the bible, or to stand by while it's being ridiculed.

  so, i'm wondering how many of them while witnesses suffered through experiences so searing that they no longer believe in the god of the old testament.. who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?.
