Why did you want to be reinstated?

first off, i apologize if this subject has been hashed out before or even lately...i haven't noticed it if it has, but i need to ask it now, as it affects my family as i'm sure it does now, or has in the past, affected many of you here.. i have a daughter who is a very active jw, and a very typical one.

if the wts says it, it has to be so...or if she doesn't down deep agree with it, then god will eventually fix it, but for the time being she is supposed to go along with it....etc.

etc.. this is how she feels about df'ing, da'ing and the resulting shunning..even of a close family member, like her brother whom she adores.

I'm sorry you too have been negatively affected by this policy. I can answer the last part of your question. Hubby and I both have been df'd for little over two years now. ALL OF OUR FAMILIES on both sides are JW's(except my sweet sister ) and I will NEVER, EVER EVER EVER be reinstated. Once I broke free of the mind control, the whole IDEA of shunning me to "get me to come to my senses" just pisses me off!! The way I see it, my family is making a choice. If they don't want a relationship with me and my kids, then that's fine. I told them, you want to consider me as dead? Well, that works both ways. Don't call me, don't write me...don't expect me to come to your funerals. Expect the same from me. That way I could do my grieving and get on with my life.

Just MY OWN personal experience and opinion. I am not suggesting that for anyone else. You would have to know my family to understand.

I too read "The Age of Reason" by Thomas Paine and it changed my view of the bible entirely. Don't read it unless you have a really open mind and are willing to examine all sides of a story. I found it enlightening. Hope to hear more from you in the future.

I enjoyed your story, well written and many details included that I think many of us can relate to. I am sorry you have suffered the loss of your JW family and friends too...as so many of us have. What a relief though that Judine was having doubts at the same time. Such a comfort for you both to be able to share those with each other and talk it out. You STILL overlooked some glaringly obvious things in your response to me. WHAT IF THE MOLESTER NEVER ADMITS HE DID IT? Then how is he punished? And don't tell me to "wait on Jehovah". In the time everyone is "waiting on Jehovah" to correct the problem, the man can molest HUNDREDS more children. And you just try going to the authorities about it and see what the reaction is of your local elders. They will advise you that you are bringing reproach on Jehovah's name by making something like this public, and that the brothers should be allowed to handle it themselves. I know, been there and seen it. You CANNOT tell me these men had god's holy spirit.

Also, you make the assumption that child molesters can overcome their PROBLEM with help from Jehovah. You are obviously terribly ignorant about the illness of pedophilia. They are repeat performers, so to speak...and are not able to "turn around from their bad way". Even with the help of competent professionals and medication, which is more help than any JW ever got.

As for your claim that you and your daughter were molested...sorry dear...but I don't believe a WORD of it. Nothing in your posts rings with sincerity, but especially that doesn't. I would be surprised if you even HAVE a daughter. If you did, and she'd been molested...and you were a healthy, normal mother...your reaction would be different. Actually, I get the feeling that you are a male poster attempting to appear female. So I am glad you are done with this board, because I am done wasting my time with you. You only came on here to stir up trouble, not to offer any sincere words of encouragement. So go report to your body of elders that your attempts here were unsuccesful. You were spotted for what you are.

Mymailmum, I will address one more comment to you, since the others already addressed most of your points.

You said

So you would teach your child, who was raped by an elder, that the faithful and discreet slave is STILL feeding her food at the proper time, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THEIR POLICIES THAT WOULD ALLOW THE RAPIST TO REMAIN AN ELDER IN GOOD STANDING? After all, if your daughter didn't have two witnesses to the attack, it would be her word against his. And you as her parent would NOT BE ALLOWED TO TELL OR WARN ANY OF THE OTHER WITNESSES OF THE ABUSE...for then you would be dealt with judicially for slander. I think if you truly told that to a child who had been molested, that would be just another abuse heaped on that child. I hope you don't have children.
