  i have to be sort of careful here because i have a feeling my younger brother, who is an active jw may lurk here.

  not that i really care what he thinks, but he could make it very difficult for our elderly mom with her cong.

  he lives in another state but it would not bother him in the least to call her or her elders to "warn" them of my now apostate status.

  Where does the WT Society get all of its money?

  i was always taught that they were so frugal and even poor, just scraping by with neccessities back in brooklyn and at the farm, and in our congs they always harped at everyone to put more in the box since they couldn't make the hall payment or the utilities, etc.. now i am hearing that they are quite well off.

  is this mostly from wealthy dubs leaving money to the borg in their wills, or, rich ones donating, (for instance prince or the williams sisters)?.

  Anyone here drop out of high school pre 1975?

  just wondering.

  and if so, were you able to go back later on and finish?

  i barely made it in under the wire, so to speak, but my three younger siblings had to quit (our dad made them--he said they would be better off "pioneering" but in reality he put them to work in a gardening business he started since he had quit his job and maxed his credit cards--waiting for "the end".

  Great Tribulation Story

  the other day i read a great sci-fi story posted in one of these forums about a guy who time-travelled into the future, found out the borg was false, and then came back and was dfed.

  i can't find it now.

  does anyone know where it is or who posted it?

  can someone explain just exactly what that does mean.

  i was never able to get a straight answer from anyone--it was just some sort of horrible thing a person might do that would never, ever be forgiven.

  i asked point blank once if it was apostasy and was told no.

  i read something hilarious a few years ago at one of these forums.

  go to an assembly...stand up and horse around during the session until the ushers take notice.

  when they hold up those little signs they have saying something like "please take your seat" hold up your own sign that says, "please kiss my ass".
