my hell is just beginning, 26 years of marriage, almost divorced last year until we finally decided to get back and give it another try this year.
now i'll have to meet with the elders and tell them about my spirituality and doubts about the wts, 1914, 1995 generation change,malawy/mexico,and on and on and my wife will be there.
i do feel sorry for my wife because she has already lost 13 members of her family, "apostasy" and some just left the truth and even though some are not disfellowshipped she won't talk to them, now her husband, is going thru the same thing, she cannot accept it because out of 31 y. in the truth i was an elder and how could that happen.

i was really shocked to see this headline this morning....patsy ramsey died this morning at the age of 49 of ovarian cancer....i always wondered what happened there; whether she and her husband actually killed their daughter, or if someone else broke into the house and murdered her.......while family members are always high on the list of suspects when something like this happens, i tend to think that john and patsy ramsey were falsely accused of murdering their daughter, as there appeared to be no motive.
anyone think they did kill her?
What a tragedy for that family!
after alot of time, lurking, fighting this damn inward battle i am dealing with, i've decided to join in the mix.
a little about me (i'll try not to bore you to much) ... i am a fader.
was raised jw, was even a m.s.
sistab_b,
This isn't jw bashing. We are just stating the facts. Besides it is the jws who do more than enough bashing on other religions regularly, don't you think?
i am 21 and live in ny.
i lived in sc for 2 years and went to college there.
while i was there, i met a 27 year old married man and he had an affair with me.
BNS,
Welcome to the board! I have to agree with the Big Tex. If he wants to be a jw in good standing, he has to stay with his jw wife. If he decides to stay with you, he will get excommunicated and shunned by his friends and family (if his family members are jws also.)
Don't try to change yourself. Find someone who appreciates just who you are. Even you convert to jw, in the eyes of the organization, you guys are still committing adultery. Then you both get punished. On second thought they may not even let you be a jw if they find out you are involved with a married jw.
Remember! If he wants to be a jw, he has to stay with his wife. Why did he get interested in their religion in the first place? Perhaps his wife's influence?
wow, it's been forever since i posted on here.
anyway, in the last three years i've managed to completely separate myself from the jw way of thinking.
at this point, i know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's crap, and their teachings mean nothing to me... but my best friend made a terrible mistake, so i need some advice regarding his situation.. .
My initial response: sigh.....
I agree with parakeet. Wait! I've said that twice already today.
She needs to take her responsibility. If your friend plays hard on her, he will end up being "the bad guy". Before everything gets out of control, have him talk to his wife sincerely. If she refuses to back out, then he just has to go. Obiously she doesn't love him as much as he loves her. She has to make the decision. Either she has to have a courage to leave the organization (if she really doesn't believe in them) or your friend should divorce her. Nothing is going to come out nice if he stays and keeps brewing.
kia spectra 5 or hyundai elantra gt hatchback?
any experience with either of these cars?
they both drive great and are much more affordable than the honda and toyotas.
Congratulations to you, confusedjw, on your new car.

I prefer to buy German cars they are solid and reliable and their spares when needed are reasonably cheap, I mean with cars like Opel or Volkswagen one can't go wrong.Interesting! Here in U.S., German cars are much more expensive than Japanese cars. We have Toyota and Honda. I've been a Toyota fan, but my husband wanted a Honda. So we got a Honda van. I like both. I've had Toyota for 8 years and never had a problem. Hopefully we'll have the same luck with the Honda.
do you think they might really believe that?
mim, you still post thought-provoking questions...
I think so. otherwhise why would they go crazy like that?
well ive just registered with the site and not sure what to make of it.
i feel i shouldn't be here.... anyway i'm just a normal 17 year old lad from the uk who is a bit confused at the minute.
i want nothing more than to go out and enjoy myself with my mates in the world but it proves difficult.
Hi, supersonic! Welcome to the board!
I agree with what parakeet said. Like any other human organization, people in this forum are made with 2 groups: those who are sincere and those who are not. Keep reading lots of posts. Don't rush to a conclusion on anything. Quite a few of us understand where you are now. Your life is full of possibilities. Carefully explore and always do the right thing.
So you must be in highschool now. Is that what you call in England? Highschool is the school you go before college/university. what are you planning for your future? Have you thought about it?

Hi, in between!
Welcome to the board. Can you tell us what happened today? What made it "the last straw"? You'll find a lot of comfort and support from here. I'll be looking forward to read your posts.

a rumor alert indeed, but it could be related to the distribution of kingdom news no.37, "false religions end is near.".
the following is posted from e-watchman's forum.. make of it what you will, but in light of all the rhetoric about "deliverance at hand" and "independent thinking", nothing would surprise me anymore.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1502&st=0 we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.
however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.
Hmmm....so shocking that some jws might have problems? I think it's going to be either
1. the end is near (as usual)
or
2. Blood tranfusion is a matter of conscience
