in the information kit entitled jehovah's witnesses - guidelines for their non-blood medical management the chapter entitled "emergency protocol involving jehovah's witnesses" instructs all hospital doctors and nurses to check each casualty's wallet/purse for a blood card in case the patient is a jw.
yeah, right!
it also states:.
One wonders how hospital staff in emergency departments would have "reason to believe he (the unconscious patient) is a Witness.

today while listening to the dr. laura show, a single woman with a young daughter called in concerned about wether or not she should join a religion that she disagrees with on some points.
dr. laura explained that even she has some bones of contention with her jewish faith, but to join a religion that you have major problems with, especially if you are raising a child in that religion, would be a mistake.
dr. laura explained how sometimes she has discussions with the rabbis to get more clarity, or to just say what she thinks about a certain practice.. the woman who called explained that when she has a question and goes to the elders, they just tell her to read some publications they have on the matter, and that she could be disfellowshipped if she believes differently.. dr. laura reiterated that it would be a mistake to join a religion that she is uncomfortable with.. the woman never said she was interested in 'hovahs, but it's rather obvious.

Just an interesting tidbit that I thought I'd share.

.....or why they won't let me play at the kingdom halls anymore.
sorry to wreck everyone's lovely christmas eve, but it's time for some brutal torture!
if nothing else, "dubsticks" illustrates how a perfectly normal and often happy person is going along in life minding his or her own business, and then dubs enter into that life and change everything.
Farkel,
This is just way too cool! You're great! I love it! if only we could of played this version at the hall! Oh well, I'd rather listen to it here!

my wife and i have been witnesses for almost 50 years.
we are both third generation witnesses and raised in the "lie".
we raised our kids in it also.
Welcome Robotnomore!
It's encouraging to see that there are more and more 'hovahs that will do the research.

I just downloaded winamp so I could listen.
WOAH! Very cool, Farkel! My daughter, the budding pianist, was very impressed! She actually remembered the 'hovah part of the song.

i could not look at all the photos of former jw and thier kids celebrating xmas and i couldn't help but think how happy they looked , mom, dad, the kids, just enjoying having a day off and being together-.
fast forward to 10am across the country in hall after hall a group of folks going out in service, unhappy, sad, and frustrated- kids damn sure don't want to be there as they knock on thier classmates doors dressed up like little salemen selling bible books -.
it is cold and windy and here they are letting the heat out of folks homes how crazy we must have looked walking around in the snow without any snowsledge or snowboard.

That's why one elder I worked with said; "Good morning, we're stepping into people's homes this morning to......"
Pathetic.

Very sad indeed. And to top it off, 'hovah have their "time" foremost in their thoughts, not prospective converts.

i was just wondering what was the most astounding thing you guys have had a jw say to you.
whether it was while you were still in the borg or after you left.
i've heard some rather funny stories on this subject.
I had an old hag sister suggest to me that I get a vacsectomy, so that I wouldn't be burdened with small kids during the great tribulation. Ha! That was when my 18 year old university student was just a baby. HA!

any of you ex-jdubs get hit by the "sheparding" call this christmas morning yet?.
