I'm sure there were - I remember a couple in our hall separated and eventually divorced. I later learned he had been married 5 times and the abuse was a common thread in every split. I know he was abusive to her son from a previous marriage.

Did you know of any JW's brothers that were "wife beaters"? Were they DF'd?
by booker-t inyears ago when i was attending my old kh there was an elder that was very stern.
bro glen(not his real name) used to be very firm in telling students about their talks not being good, or where they needed to improve.
i know i was "terrified" of bro glen.

I just read on line that Paul Gleason, who played the angry principal has passed away at the age of 67. What a funny, hysterical role he played in the movie. I remember him in the first Die Hard movie.

Were YOU Wrong, or, were you WRONGED?
by prophecor ini left because of sins of the flesh.
i held onto years worth of guilt and felt i could no longer serve jehovah with a clean conscience, as i was practicing that which was unbecoming of a christian.
my sins were enough to assist in my walking away from the truth as i could not serve as a hypocrite and look my fellow brothers and sisters in the eye, without feeling guilty of treason.. i was wrong.

I was wrong for joining; wronged about many things; but right when I left!

That man who sings "life without end at last." I have heard that man sing that song at more JW funerals that I care to remember. I want to rip the CD out of the player.

I gave mine away to a countercult ministry - they said they could use them. They even came over and got the boatload that I had in my garage. So much stuff! I wish I could find more people to come haul away my trash!

First of all, choosing life is always the best option - I am so glad you made that choice; my best friend had an abortion in her 20's and it's haunted her 30 years later.
I would use the support system that I have been given. Don't marry if you don't love him.

I saw him recently on 60 Minutes (or something similar) and he looks pretty good for a man his age; now if he would just keep his mouth shut. His son and heir apparent looks exactly like him!

Yes, some were absolutely obsessed with it; others just thought it but weren't so vocal - I was both!
