I think we can take that as a NO Terry!
You have ironed out all the bumps and left a clear road ahead with your excellent post. Do you drive a steam roller?
as jws we were told only 144000 go to heaven from the time of christ right up to this day.it dawned on me before i was baptized one day during my study that the numbers dont add up.
the brother was telling me that the roman persecutions of the christians were killing thousands every week.
initially, within weeks of jesus death, there were 5000 christians at least in jerusalem.

When the cat is away the mice will play - and, in your case, the cat could even be in the next room. While you may never have actually two-timed anyone, you certainly show the attitudes and tendencies of a cheat. You don't think relationships should be, or even can be, monogamous. For you, variety is the spice of life. While the word "cheat" may have negative connotations, perhaps you are simply open-minded and more liberal than most. (Different strokes for different folks.) In this case, your attitude might not be a problem…if you can find a partner who shares your idea of commitment. Even couples that think they can handle infidelity, however, are often surprised by the strange mix of emotions that it creates. Jealousy and bitterness can destroy the most well-intentioned, open-minded couple, so weigh the pros and cons before exploring new horizons.
I got 100% Someone shoud pin a big medal to my chest - or somewhere!
or are they just stringing the rank and file along, getting every ounce of work out of thier constituents, long enough to pull the next rabbit out of the hat?
those at the top, don't they see where they've made mistakes?
how can they continue in good conscience before the god they profess to serve?
It is important to realize the difference between the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and Jehovah’s Witnesses. The Society is the legally registered corporation for Jehovah’s Witnesses. They have branches which double as printing plants all around the world and they live in these “Bethel Homes.” The main headquarters are in New York. The Society make all decisions and decide doctrine, rules and policy. No accounts are shown to the ordinary members.
Although these men also call themselves Jehovah’s Witnesses, they lead and are in charge, they have referred to themselves as God’s prophet. They are responsible for the claims and accusations that appear in the literature they produce.
They will often be referred to as Witnesses. To become a Witness is relatively easy. To become a member of the Watchtower Society is far harder and can only be achieved by appointment. Very few are asked to join. The highest rank is appointment as a member of the Governing Body. These men manipulate all Bible texts and decide how to apply them to Jehovah’s Witnesses. They are responsible for the changes that have taken place in their teachings over the years.
The average rank and file Jehovah’s Witness is in a different category. Most of them are sincere people, who have in many cases been attracted to the movement by a genuine desire to understand the Bible and serve God as best they can. They are often very kind people who have become unwittingly involved. Their distant and sometimes hostile attitude towards those outside the movement is a result of what the Society term “mental regulating,” in the form of books, magazines, lectures, question and answer discussions and private counselling - coupled with a fear of expulsion if they associate with anyone who their Society see as a threat to their cause.
Most members would show a great deal more empathy if they were not actively encouraged to view all outsiders as sinners who are about to be killed by the God they love. After many years in the movement and being trained to view all outsiders with suspicion, believing that they are a threat to their salvation, it is inevitable that some Witnesses have lost a great deal of their feeling towards people who are not part of their organization.

after a century of preaching and selling literaturature what do people know about the jw's message.
they don't take blood transfusions.
they don't celebrate birthdays.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that there is a universal court case going on to settle the issue of God’s right to rule the earth. The issue is one of universal sovereignty. They claim to be God’s witnesses in the court case, appointed by him, to put forward his side of the debate.
If this were a case held even in an imperfect human court, how many times could such witnesses make false statements and claims before their honesty was called into question? How many failed promises and false dates could be entered into the court record before the witnesses were discredited and their testimony considered inadmissible? At what point would the judge conclude that such unreliable testimony was damaging to the case, and such witnesses were actually harming the reputation of the one they were claiming to support?
However well intended the efforts of witnesses in a court case, their testimony has to be truthful and unchanging. It cannot be altered and embellished as the case progresses. It is not enough for the witnesses to say that they meant well and were trying to help. No just court can tolerate such mischief. How well have Jehovah’s Witnesses presented their testimony and has it helped the cause of the one they claim has sent them to testify?’

i'd like someone to explain to me, why so many people come out with the phrase, 'i love jehovah'?.
what is it that they're meant to be loving?.
jehovah was a pretty nasty war god of the israelites.
They have been told that Jehovah is the only person who can give them everlasting life in paradise or kill them. They believe this and driven by fear seek self preservation. The Watchtower Society explains how to save their lives and earn salvation.
They then invest life’s most precious recourses to please him and attach value to him as a result. Because of the value that they have placed on him he becomes dear to them and they translate the emotion as love.
did you ever fulfill your childhood dreams?
mine was in sports, and yes, i have fulfilled my dreams even when i was in the witness program.
golf
I did not have a childhood - I was a Jehovah's Witness but I did have dreams. To survive Armageddon and bring praise to Jehovah.
Seem like not all dreams are meant to come true. Oops! .
if you are the only being in existance...do you have a purpose?
especially if there is no such thing as time or space.
is "purpose" something which is only meaningful in a world with a serial time line, because outside of it, there is no passage of time and therefore no cause and effect?
Life - shards of God-existence - works for me
Yes I think that works for me. This would be a good name for a Christian pop group.

It seems that life has only one aim, it wants to live, to be, to say I AM. To inhabit a billion different forms. To experience everything it is possible to experience and then more. There does not have to be a preconceived goal. Life lives in the moment. It simply is.
It wants to be joyful. To sing, to dance, to celebrate, to demonstrate its existence. Our bodies are one vehicle for life to express itself through. Every glass of wine I enjoy is an act of devotion and service to the source of life or God - if it pleases you to have a label.
In keeping with this philosophy - may I wish you all a happy present moment
