Just had a thought when reading Data Dogs topic..

..according to the wt, adam and eve were created to live forever on earth right from the start.

two things i just thought of.. 1) one of the reasons that they were banished from the garden was so that they couldn't eat from 'the tree of life' , which would allow them to live forever.. so doesn't that mean that they were created with bodies that were going to deteriorate and die?

or would the magic fruit make them invulnerable even to gods power to destroy them?

Hello The Quiet One,

I too have been pondering this subject. Our JW reasoning is flawed. God purposed for man to sin right from the beginning. I have been pondering Romans 9 and Ephesians 1. Here are two excerpts from these chapters that seem to help.

Romans 9

New International Version (NIV)

22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

Ephesians 1:8-10

New International Version (NIV)

8 With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he [a] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

whynthey never ate from the tree of life is a curious one. Maybe it did not look "good for food" or "pleasing to the eye."

Yes, they just finished reading about Schadrah, Meshaach & Abendigo and the fam is bewildered why big J didn't just send an angel to protect.

Then one of them quips that big J coulda just had a bunch of angels kill 185,000 wicked people each and not wasted so much water.

Ya then big J would not have to bring himself to ruin for ruining the earth.

I do like the fact that I can now research these topics and not feel the guilt. I'm disappointed I won't be getting to pet that lion but I'd rather not feel guilty.

My only view of reincarnation was from those who believed they were somebody famous at one time. I suppose if I had lived before it would have been more like Psalms 22:6

aug wt q and a has now stated that any df'd person can sit with anyone, anywhere at a congregation meeting.. before, they had to sit at the back of the hall.

There is no official policy but they have to keep clarifying this matter.

The parents with small children probably got tired of being forced to sit next to mentally diseased trash.
