I have a question about the assemblies.
by twolips in.
when i was young (er) the society said the army came to the assemblies to observe how they fed the flock.. my question is, even though the asemblies were much more grander then now, with the food distribution ending and all, feeding thousands of people.
now they bring their own lunches.......i regress...does anyone remember how the military was in awe of us?.

Julius Ceasar
by Yerusalyim injust curious as to who watched the tnt miniseries about my old friend gaius julius ceasar.
i was terribly disappointed in the movie, aside from screwing the pooch on several important historical facts the series failed to capture the sense of the man that history gives, the same being true of pompey, brutus, casius, and where the heck was crasus?
he was only like the wealthy man in rome, an invaluable asset to ceasar's rise to power, and part of the first triumvirate, which was so important in the history of rome and it's transition from republic to empire.

A Schubert Impromptu
by Farkel infranz schubert was an austrian composer who at one time studied with the infamous antonio scalieri.
those of you who watched the movie "amadeus" will remember scalieri.
schubert was born in 1797 and died in 1828 at the tender age of 31. even so, his music shows an incredible amount of maturity.

by yesidid inmy journey out began with this and other ''eyeopening" internet sites [thank you simon].
i have since read ray franz's two books and greg stafford's "dissertations".
although i am very grateful to have found out that my years of questions had a solid base and i now see the wts for what it is, i have decided i need more positives in my life.

I'm heading off to go to the Bryant memorial
by seven006 ini really hate funerals and memorials and avoid them as much as i can.
looking back on the few i have attended over the past ten years i guess i only go to them because of the people who are left behind.
since i didn't know the bryant's or any of their family members i find the draw that i have to this service even more confusing.
