I don't know your friend from a hole in the ground, however I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to believe him. It sounds like someone making excuses for what they are doing and trying to blame anyone else for it. But IF he is telling the truth, then the so-called elder that laid this load of shit on him is lying through his teeth (no surprise there either). I knew a guy who now lives in Texass who got all pizzy about his wife's previous daliances because she didn't give him a blow-by-blow (pun intended) account of each one of them. The new breed of jw is one (F)(U)(C)(K)(E)(D) up bunch of nitwits!

Friend gets "scriptural divorce" over wifes transgressions before they got married...
by sosoconfused inso i have a friend in a congregation in new jersey who recently called me to tell me that he got a divorce.
nothing surprising there at first but it is the fact of when it happened.
his wife began pioneering april 1, and after about three weeks she came to him and told him that about 4 years she had engaged in loose conduct (fondling the penis and the guy kissing her breasts) during a time that she was inactive.

Another bash at education - wt13 9/15
by Splash inpage 20:.
the unwary may adopt the same view of theocratic arrangements.
they may be unwilling to go along with congregation procedures and may even complain about anything not to their liking.

Edumacation WTF is that? Oh it must be what makes people use terms from the stage like, "What does this mean for you and I?' I would love to answer, "Well I'm not sure about you, but for I it means that ME must....." Or the nitwits who use the word simular, instead of similar! Or nucular, instead of nuclear. or...oh hell there are way to many ignorant fools that try to "teach" others. No wonder I am a piztjw! HAHAHAHA

HOW to accept counsel and criticism from an Elder
by Terry inthere is a catch-22 that can trip you up at the local kingdom hall.. .
if you receive "counsel" from an elder about any behavior at all and you "resist" or question the counsel you can be accused of having a "spirit of rebellion".. .
so, you have to either shut up and comply (with even the most ludicrous and ill-founded suggestions) or answer back and be chastised and "marked".. .

Personlly I have found the single best answer to use is, "Well, you may have a point. I will give it further consideration."
Then I promptly forget what they said.
In a case a few years ago I was supposed to read the WT article about marrying "only in the lord" and was hauled in the back room because, "some might be offended because you married a non-jw (thirteen years ago)."
The shearer of sheep that "counseled" me waited until he was the sole "elder" in town to voice his personal opinion.
Now every time any of them ask, "Why aren't you doing (insert whatever order they yammer)?", I simply say, "Well someone just MIGHT be offended by my doing that, and I SURELY don't want to "stumble" any of the weak ones!"
The hypocrisy of the congregation fleecers of the sheep preaching about forgiveness then refusing to practice what they preach was instrumental in my seeing TTATT

Looooooooooong Prayers...
by likeabird inlet's have a bit of a laugh.. .
who of you rolled your eyes when brother never ending prayers was called up to give the closing prayer?.
who of you then proceeded to tap your feet, fidget loudly or start doing balancing acts off the back of the chair in front of you while waiting for it to end?.

I'll never forget the eight and one-half minute prayer that part-by-part summed up an entire DC that I suffered through about seven years ago.
The CO who yammered through it must have thought he was supposed to give another closing speech.
If we didn't listen to the talks as they were given there really isn't much point to rehashing it all at the end.

The TOPIC which may never be discussed!
by Terry inquestion: how does the leadership of jehovah's witnesses instruct its members to prepare for the eventual elder care of its members?.
answer: it pretends it will never happen!.
is this responsible leadership or some kind of cognitive dissonant malfeasance?.

That is one of the reasons I am never going to amount to anything in the eyes of the dubs. I spent my younger years WORKING (as a working cowboy) for an employer who paid good wages. I set aside savings, bought IRA's, and so forth for the time I may not be working. As a result, now at a relatively young age, while others who are loyal dubs have nothing and are still washing windows part time for minimum wage in their seventies, I am comfortably retired and living on the money I set aside through several decades of saving. Silly me! I could have been a burden living off the sweat of others labour instead of being self-reliant. Then I could have been a good dub instead of a piztjw!

Where are They, And What Are They Doing Now
by piztjw inso the other day i was in a group of jw's who were going on and on about a couple circuit shearer's by the last names of harfman and smeltzer.. as i remember they were both total tools.
one of them i hear is in the dallas/ft worth area (smell sir).. anyone know them, where they are, are they still the total jag-offs that they were when i used to be in the loop back during the late 80' early 90's?.

Men...what do you look for in a woman?
by LouBelle inso we had the woman version.
let it rip guys - what type of woman makes you just want to get her know her better - the one that makes you take that risk and walk on over to start a conversation?.
-
piztjw
Someone who is not afraid to look like a woman. A person who takes care of themselves, has a very definite air of self-confidence which includes the way they carry themselves.
They don't need to be Americas next top model. I am not that insecure in myself that I need nothing other than an arm ornament. But a woman is IMHO "repulsive" if she cannot look you in the eye, slouches and shuffles along, wears clothes that don't fit (dresses from the local tent and awning store) either no makeup or to damn much, hair that is never combed or styled (oh hell I forgot they aren't supposed to pay attention to that sort of thing), and can carry on a conversation without the incessant bitching, whining and meddlesome gossiping that jw women seem to revel in.
Basically I would look for qualities in a woman that are the exact opposite of what the typical dub promotes as attractive.

WT August 15, 2013 QFR - Sitting next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings
by Designer Stubble inpage 8 of the latest wt (insider version) has a whole page dedicated to the question whether it is appropriate to sit next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings.. not sure how to paste this in, but check jw.org.
perhaps someone can do this for me.. horrible, no words really on how pharisee like their cult grip and control has become!.
first of all, without any shame they are talking about disfellowshipped minors.
