You should be aware that the translators of the King James version took the liberty to add the "worms", supposedly to add clarity to the text; However it doesn't exist in the original hebrew text.

the wts uses john 3:13 to prove that before jesus no one was taken to heaven.. in the nwt, john 3:13 reads:"moreover, no man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the son of man.".
notice a difference to the king james bible:.
john 3:13 - "and no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man who is in heaven.

my wife asked me a very simple, but profound question; "when does someone who claims to be anointed, get baptized in holy spirit?"..
i'd never thought of it before, but it quickly dawned on me that in general, anyone who claims to have the heavenly hope, never had it at their baptism.
they almost always received their 'calling' after several years as a christian.
Searcher, the account of the conversion of Cornelius actually indicates that they received the Holy Spirit, therefore, were "baptized" (immersed) into the Holy Spirit even before they were baptized in water. Something to think about.

i'm not going to this festival yet, because my time has not yet fully come.
Cold Steel,
Jesus explains that while the apostles could move freely and openly at the feast, he would be noticed. He was, after all, a well known and controversial figure in Jerusalem.
The context, in fact, shows that he was talking with his fleshy brothers, who didn't put faith in him, but were challeging him to perform his powerful works in a very spectacular public fashion, and what better ocasion to do that than the festivity in Jerusalem. He wasn't talking with his apostles.

when a jw goes from door to door on a daily basis, they are called pioneers and it is a good thing.. it is an act of love when they share their knowledge with householders.. .
however, if that pioneer learns more about the watchtower society's beliefs when compared with the bible and tries to share that knowledge with current members he is attacking his brothers and sisters and is mentally diseased.. when he shares his knowledge about the watchtower society's involvement with the un and other political entities with the brothers and sisters it is called an act of hate.. in both instances, we have similar actions and motivations but the watchtower society comes to completely different conclusions.. does it have anything to do with control or is it related to something else?.

I fail to see who are you adressing to with your last post and how it relates with the topic. Can you please clarify?
Thanks

so here you are...sitting with a couple of elders at judicial meeting, and you're asked the following question:.
"do you still believe that the fds is the channel that jehovah is using"?.
now is it possible to answer 'no' without being df, or how would you answer that question?.
I would reply with a challenge: "I will reply yes or no to that question once you can prove to me Scripturally that holding the belief that a) the current Governing Body of the Watchtower Society is the FDS and b) is that acknowledgement an essential condition for my salvation? I am confused by the changing "new light", have many doubts and questions in my mind, which I wish to keep private while I research for answers, and I've prayed that Jehovah might show me the answer through the Scriptures. Maybe this is the answer to my prayer. Can you then prove it with the Scriptures alone, please?"

in revelation chapters 7 and 14 there it talks about the 144k but says nothing of them being kings and priests.
in revelation chapter 5 and 20 it mentions ones being kings and judges, but if you notice in chapter 20 verse 4-5 it talks about martyrs coming to life judging and reigning with jesus, not the 144k specifically.
in verse 5-6 talks about the first resurrection and that all that share in this first resurrection will be priests of god and of jesus and they will reign for a thousand years.. so notice in revelation chapters 7 and 19 a great crowd is mentioned being alive standing before the throne standing at the same time as the 144k are mentioned.
Keep the following in mind:
As I explained in a different thread and in an article on my website, the Revelation began to be given to John around the year 41 CE. The apostle Paul was personally made private to the contents of Revelation around the year 49 CE when he personally went to Jerusalem to visit John. The vision of the 144.000 taken from the "twelve tribes of Israel" certainly was pivotal for Paul to develop his theology of the "Israel of God" being the Christian congregation, something he first makes mention to in his letter to the Galatians 6:15,16. Incidentally, this letter was written soon after, between 50-52 CE.
Paul must have put 2+2 together when he coupled Jesus' words: "The kingdom of God will be taken from YOU [natural Israel, Jews descending from Abraham] and be given to a nation producing its fruits." - (Matthew 21:43) with this new vision that 144.000 were taken from the twelve tribes of Israel (Revelation 7:4) and these tribes didn't match exactly the territorial tribes of ancient Israel.

secularist parent campaigners in scotland are trying to have schools religious assembly downgraded to opt-in - as it stands it is opt-out.
this means unless you want to separate your child from the rest of the class, they have to have the religious indoctrination - rock meet hard place.. some of the quoted parents remind me of jw's:.
I agree that religion should be kept out of school - as long as the people who teach evolution at School don't use it as means to teach children that God doesn't exist. That would be fair and square for everyone. However, I question how many teachers would stop themselves from indoctrinating the kids on the subject that "evolution disproves the existence of God".

I've interacted with Robert King a number of times, and I have much respect for his mission, and no doubt he's a clever man, in the good sense. He's not trying to scam anyone, and I owe him much of my early "awakening" towards TTAT. His articles are well-reasoned although, in many points, flawed, because, as pointed out, he begins with the wrong assumption that the modern Jehovah's Witnesses are solely God's people and are the modern equivalent to ancient Israel in God's plans, and consequently, all prophecies concerning ancient Israel have a double fulfillment in the future, where the Jehovah's Witnesses and the "organization" are the centerpiece. That's when i think he's in error - big time, and where we, doctrinally, part ways. But he's a nice person to deal with.
I would advise you to read "Crisis of Conscience" first and foremost. It's the real shocking eye-opener to the inner workings of the Organization and the Governing Body. That's when I had the definitive evidence from a direct eyewitness that the so called "spirit-directed organization" if, after all, embarassingly human. Once you break free from the mental encagement into that myth, you're ready to read Robert King's book and make a fair judgement on its merits.
