Hey Ken, hard story to read. I am sorry that false religion left you in the dumps. I know it sounds corny but 'you've got a friend in Jesus'. Try reading the scriptures that talk about false prophets and wolves in sheeps clothing and realize that it is speaking of groups like the WT. The warnings were there all along, they are just hard to see when you are on the other side I guess. I am praying for you. Love ya bro!

i've been a bit disillusioned lately with the stuff i've found out about the society, with some research of my own and other research from sites or sources like these.
Hey Davie, I am glad that you are here. If I were you, I would read as much as possible about the org, from a source other than the WTB&TS. Go to freeminds.org for starters. Perhaps look into other sites and see if the info you are getting corroborates. Also, read the scriptures. They were written *for* you and *to* you and not to some elite group of men somewhere in NY. I would also recommend reading Ray Franz's book 'Crisis of Conscience'. It is well written and not geared towards slamming people in the org, but rather towards a desire for truth in a world of man made religion and legalism. Email me me if you want to talk. Yoyomama, thanks for posting this scripture. It is a wonderful passage about the false prophets that will arise. You have done well to post this. Let's take a look at it shall we?

Yes there will be people claiming to speak for God and will prophesy things that never come to pass. This will happen and we should steer clear of those who do this (Deut chp18 20-22)

There will be groups and organizations that arise and deceive the people by telling them things that are not true about God. Such as, Christ did not raise from the dead bodily, He is actually an angel, there is no place of torment (even though the NT speaks of this place 420 times), salvation is by works, you must adhere to a group of men that are speaking for God, and many many more.

Many will join these groups and distort the truth. They will 'wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived'.

They will say things like 'Abraham and Issac and the men of old are to return in 1925' and say things like 'Jesus actually returned invisibly in 1874-er, I mean 1914'.

just wanted to let everyone know that we had a great christmas.
my husband allowed my mother to come to our house over the holidays, and she was fine until christmas day.
we got invited over to my non-witness family's house for dinner, and my mother initially accepted the invitation, however, when it was time for us to depart, she indicated she was sick and decided not to go.

was in the middle of sending out some last minute "seasons greetings," cards.
any way, he spoke of the events of the last year, how they were significant, about the brothers going to the trade center and offering comfort from the scriptures, while priests and ministers only offered water and towels, and about the change in subscription arrangement.

It's amazing how blind the WT is when it comes to the words of Jesus. I mean, ALL THEY WERE DOING WAS GIVING THEM WATER!! Arghh! I can't stand it!
I believe it was St Francis of Assisi that said 'Preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words'.
FF, about prophecy. Everyone who reads the Bible is looking forward to that blessed hope we have in Christ. When God will set up His kingdom and reign forever. I watch the news and read the words of Christ and often wonder 'how long, oh Lord'. But the only differece is that the WT claims to speak for God and have predicted the end over and over, while most Christians are looking for that blessed hope, yet fixing our eyes on Jesus. Don't be fooled brother. You are being told the skin of the truth, stuffed with a lie. Trust in Christ, not man. He will never let you down. His words are eternal.
