Elders want letter from my daughter!
by reubenfine inbackground: my unbaptized daughter married an unbaptized young man when they were both 18 years old.
it didn't work out and 2 years later they divorced.. now it's 6 years later, (after the divorce), and my daughter never got baptized.
her ex-husband did and is engaged to another dub.

Over-rated...Signs
by Sentinel ini waited and waited for the dvd to come out for "signs".
i was so looking forward to it.
i had my feet propped up, a bowl of popcorn and bottle of soda.

Did you keep "satanic" LP's as a JW?

i kept all my iron maiden records 'cos they weren't satanic in my opinion and the music was just too good to be thrown out.
anyone else keep records that would have been deemed "satanic"?

Funny, I managed to be able to keep any and all albums without any threats yet my older brother was endlessly badgered about pretty much his entire collection. I guess I wasn't worth trying to "save" (read: lucky!) How in the hell Zeppelin's "Houses of the Holy" managed to survive intact is beyond me. I still can't believe that album cover even got released.
My poor brother though...he got SO much flack from SO many witnesses that he finally buckled under the pressure and in a moment of insanity(?) he and several friends headed for Grapevine lake with just about his entire collection. Um, can you say frisbee practice? ....into the lake! Bye Alice...See ya Mick...So Long Pete (Who's Next?) Didn't take too long to get the collection rolling again after the realization hit of what had happened.
I do remember having a garage sale one time and several jw's were going through the albums
I had out. Lots of head shaking and grunting...(must have been the "houses" one).Ok, that's enough for now :)

just before stevie ray vaughn died i was really getting into his music and wanted to see him live and never got the chance, so before this guy leaves this planet i have to go see him!.
i will give all you blues fans a full report later on tonight.. beans

Have a GREAT time at the shewwww. :) I've never seen BB but I did get to see Stevie play one time. Unbelievable is all I can say! As I recall this was just before he hit bottom before going into rehab. My friend's sister worked for the radio station that was sponsoring the event ("Falls Fest" in Wichita Falls) and she got him a backstage pass.....grrrrrrrrr!!!! I'll just say that my friend had some stories to tell and leave it at that. Just witnessing the onstage spectacle was good enough for me.
Again, I hope seeing BB play will be a memorable event for ya!!

maybe it never happened to you, but for those that this happened, how do you react when a person seems to be doing on purpose to put you down for what you said or just say the opposite of what you're saying?
