I just don't get the classes. Jesus didn't teach two groups. It's so crazy to go against 1 Timothy 2:5

Since Great Crowd has no mediator
by sosoconfused ini am thinking that maybe i missed this discussion or something.
now for years in the org i never ever paid attention to the article that says jesus is the mediator for the 144000 alone.
yesterday talking to my 70+ year old dad he got violently angry with me and threw his cane at me because he said i was a liar.. .

Gifts for C.O.'s and D.O.'s
by sosoconfused indoes anyone else find it funny that the circuit overseers and district overseers go to a new congregation every week, have all their bills paid and then for some odd reason the elders always find a way to give them extra money.
on top of that there are atleast 10 families in every hall that give them a green handshake.
then the people who give them expensive gifts (i am ashamed to say i participated in this) like watches etc... yet these guys still act like they are giving up so much.... .

Tech49 on HOURS, TIME, and REPORTS
by Tech49 ini thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.
and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.
i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.

Moral dilemma: to tell my husband or not to tell him...
by Julia Orwell inthat his jw best friend he hasn't seen in ages is coming for holidays from where he now lives overseas.
this jw friend was instrumental in getting my husband into the cult before we met.
i heard from a jw from my old cong who just emailed me.

I think you are doing right by telling him. It gives you a lot of time to talk to him. Draw him out. Encourage him to communicate. Tell him YOUR worries. Tell him YOU are afraid he will shave his beard which you love, or try to be someone he isn't to please his friend. If you do that after a nice dinner and during a calm healthy conversation it would help. Thinking about it like that for your man is important. He is who is, he shouldn't be ashamed of it.

Would the fact that great crowd is now considered part of the domestics change this?
I need more coffee and have a headache. Can't think straight enough to figure it out.

Invitations to the DC
by sooner7nc inplease correct me if i'm wrong on this.. one of the guys who works with me called me at work today (his day off) and said that a jw had just come to his door.
the guy was by himself and said that he was new to the area and offered a tract of some sort and an invitation to the dc coming up in a couple of weeks in fort worth.
i don't remember ever giving out invites to the dc.

I always thought how dumb it was. They won't take ten minutes to read magazine but the are going to drive a coup,e hours and spend days at different religions weird convention? Now that I think about it, why do they even do that? Makes no sense!

Jack I'm glad you are here. Wish I knew you in person so we could get together and chat. With teens and your life I respect your decision to stay an observer. For me, I had a young one that I could either raise as a witness and have to lie or I could get out and raise without the lies. In my case it's the best, I can understand though with kids already grown you don't face the same decision I did.
Have you talked with your kids or tried to help them think critically? Encouraged extra schooling or other things?

Why doesn't anyone know about the UN thing?
by Comatose ini can't fathom it.
if i asked anyone in the last couple halls i've been in they wouldn't know.
it would seem to me that news like that would race around a circuit and spread like wildfire over the country.

I know none of my family knows besides my sister. My parents are still trying to save me. I can see the shocked and horrified looks on their faces if I told them. It's one I think would be hard to make excuses for. I still remember when I found out. I hardly believed it and I was already reading "apostate" stuff.
If they keep pushing, it's a great fall back to say why I am discouraged. "Someone in service told me we joined the UN. I didn't believe it, but now I found out its true."
Honestly I just wouldn't want to mentally f them up like that. Maybe that's why no one knows. Us "apostates" are actually kind people who wouldn't destroy an aging relatives beliefs. We prefer to lovingly try to help them.
