I think they'd do better to just put "JWs Support Child Molesters" bumper stickers on all the cars in the lot.

Governing Body, Faithful Slave disconnect.
by prologos inwt doctrine now says that there was no faithful feeding slave at pentecost, in apostolic times, ---but there is now, since 1919. previously they taught there was always a slave feeding -sometimes unknown , but an unbroken, if sporadic lineage.. while the early, and later christians (in this doctrine) had no discreet slave, they had a governing body.
the tradition of a (wt) governing body is older then the idea of "feeding my sheep".. governance over care.. are they working on an unbroken if sporadic governance of the congregation too?
we still feel the reverberations, consequences of the talking snake too.. .

Do you think the GB ever mentions these abuse cases directly?
by thedepressedsoul inthe title says it all, do you think that the gb will ever bring up these cases in their literature or in a talk?
i'm not talking about them just mentioning "persecution" i'm talking about actually bringing up child abuse cases and trying to justify it.. or will it just remain the elephant in the room until years have passed?.

They are an evil leadership with criminal intentions to amass money at the expense of showing true compassion or morality towards child abuse victims. And WT leaders INDOCTRINATE that same attitude into their mind controlled followers. And THAT is what makes this whole situation more dangerous than most people realize. We are talking " Jim Jones " influence here.
Sadly, Flipper, you are absolutely right about this.
Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT a harmless preaching organization. They have ABSOLUTE authority in the minds of their followers and their followers would follow them to the gates of hell, if they believed it existed.

Anon, keep telling her in a very calm manner that Oh, there's nothing wrong with Christmas...deal with the Birthday thing later. Tell her you know mommy doesn't like it but it's okay to think for yourself. She may be only three, but she has a brain and this is the age to train it.
As long as you remain calm, happy and smiling, she'll think of you as The Good Guy. Mommy will start to look like a crazy talker at some point.
Best wishes to you and your girl!

Panhandlegirl, you need to be in a specific category to have the New Topic display above. For instance, right now I could start a new topic under Technical Support because we are IN the Technical Support category.
If you go to the Home page, you can click on the category name you wish to post under and then you'll see New Topic displayed in the blue bar up top.
Hope this helps!

What are the Core Teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by cultBgone inrecently someone asked me to define what core teachings have such a hold on jdubs that they have trouble breaking free.
trying to single out the driving force that keeps them in the borg, this is what popped into my head:.
obviously there are lots and lots of wacky things the jdubs teach/believe/pretend to believe.

Recently someone asked me to define what core teachings have such a hold on jdubs that they have trouble breaking free. Trying to single out the driving force that keeps them in the bOrg, this is what popped into my head:
Obviously there are lots and lots of wacky things the jdubs teach/believe/pretend to believe.
But their view of the world is what keeps them going - There is Good. There is Evil. You are either FOR god or FOR satan. The end.
Believing that THEY are the ONLY ones god loves (because they preach and turn in their hours every month), they truly believe that every other person on earth is (a) evil, (b) out to get them, (c) immoral/drug dealing/promiscuous/etc, and (d) either blindly or willingly following satan, who god created as a brilliant angel but he was jealous of god and wanted everyone to worship HIM, so he convinced a bunch of other angels to come to earth with him (lots more to THAT story). Hence, they do not associate with (gasp!) *worldly* people. And the only thing worse than a *worldly* person is a fallen jdub. Because obviously, if you KNOW "the truth" (as they call it), and then you leave, you are turning your back on god and running into the evil den of satan and his demonic hoardes.
And SOOOOOOOOOOOON (it's always soon), armageddon will happen which is god's war against all the wicked kings of the earth blah blah and EVERYONE who is NOT a practicing JW will DIE at god's hand. Even babies and old people.
Then the JWs will "inherit" the earth and live happily forever and ever, amen. And yes, they actually do talk about which houses they will "claim" when they are out "preaching".
I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. Is that a fairly concise explanation? Isn't this really what keeps JWs motivated? --> Paradise dangling at the end of the carrot string.

Positive facebook posts and who 'likes' them.
by disposable hero of hypocrisy ini've been conducting a little experiment.
if i post funny things on my facebook timeline, or interesting things, all my jw friends comment, like, share etc.. .
without fail though, (so far) , if i post something humanitarian, something charitable, some local interest good news story about the community coming together as one, it's very rare for any of my witness friends to 'like', comment, or share.

I've noticed the same pattern, DHOH. Amazing what things they believe to be of no concern (it will all be fixed in the new system) or under satan's control.

do other religions change doctrines like the wt society does?
by sowhatnow ini just wondered.
i mean ok, the catholic church seems to make 'adjustments' more or less , by accepting previously held prejudices.
against certain things, like gays, or birth control, or rather tolerate it more, but is that a genuine change of doctrine?.

Inside, what were the specifics of those three changes? I'm curious as I have family in the catholic church. Thanks!
