  How are the JW's reacting to the new USA gay marriage laws?

  personally i think this is wonderful.

  i have nothing against gay people and wish them only the best.. but of course i'm in a minority of one, the jw's around me are posting away on fb the most homophobic vitriol imaginable.

  a lot of them are even saying that it's the start to armageddon!!.

  Slow motion pioneers

  observing our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.

  along the way it's gossipy this and that.

  When i was a new convert and believed all the hype, I did my best to be zealous in my activity. The piosneers I went out with had different ideas, it was they who taught me The Pioneer Shuffle. That meant "strolling down the street at a slow pace so as not to wear out doing this important work". Uh huh.
  

  Sadly I pioneered for several years myself, but by then I realized how important the shuffle truly was. ;)

  Why do members of this board debate what the W.T. /G.B. meant in their publications when its all going to be changed shortly.

  its just a thought i had,why do we debate over what the wt publications say today when we know all to well that in a year or two they will say something different.. and put it down to new light .. everything charles taze russell said by word of mouth and in print , the so called , first president of the international bible students association (william h. conley was actually the first president ), later to be named the watchtower bible and tract society in his lifetime is discarded .. something like 40 years preaching and teaching throughout the earth , being the chief cornerstone of the foundation of the jehovah`s witness religion / i.b.s.a... nothing he said or preached or wrote about is accepted today by the jehovah`s witness religion as being relevant.. do they say he was wrong ?

  no... do they say he was a false prophet ?

  no ,... then what do they say about c.t.russell , well they do cherry pick some comments and take them out of context ,like he foretold 40 years beforehand about world war one.

  Good point, Phizzy.

  Perhaps some post as a way to show how totally fallible the wts and gb are and how they could never, ever actually be a mouthpiece for god (were god to exist) because they never seem to make sense.

  The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me

  due to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.

  just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.

  the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.

  W 15 july - members of others religions not destroyed???

  please tell me what do you understand from this quote that is taken from w july 2015, the article your deliverance is close paragraph 5.. i understand that not all members of other religions will be destroyed at armageddon.

  i talked to a jw.

  he says he understands differently: they will not be destroyed when the babylon the great will be destroyed but they will be destroyed in armageddon.

  Is there really any point in debating the meanings of their teachings? It's all just group-speak anyway, used to keep the jws both fearful of not being jws and proud to be card-carrying members who believe in the mantra "WE are better than everyone else, WE are the only ones that god really loves, better do what WE say or you'll die." The watchtower real estate corp is just another version of Jim Jones and every other wacko charismatic "preacher of the good news."

  Separated from a loveless Marriage

  Hi, Playground -- sometimes the hardest thing is when your inner voice tells you to do the right thing but it goes against the social structure of those you associate with. But you must remember this: Abuse only gets worse. Always. You do not deserve to live the rest of your life in a horrible marriage because some men called elders tell you that you should.
  
  PLEASE know that you have a right to a happy life, and that you are not the only jw this has happened to. And getting divorced, if it comes to that, is not a df'ing offense. You cannot worry about what other people think of you and your situation. You must remember your life is precious, you are precious, and you must protect yourself. You deserve to be happy -- happy, not miserable.
  
  Please trust your heart. You know this is wrong. You must get out of this situation somehow. You can count on the friends here on this board to support you and give you good advice. Please, if there's any way for you to move to a new area, do that. You'd be amazed at how much inner strength you can have. Remember what freddo (an elder for twenty years) said a few posts ago -- he said get out, get out now, get as far away from the situation as possible. Why? Because he's seen what happens when women don't. He doesn't want you to be abused, he wants you to be happy. We all want you to be happy. Please think about this. I know you're in a tough spot, maybe it seems like you can't get out, but think about the advice you'd give your best friend if you knew this was happening to her -- would you want her to stay and take it, or would you want her to protect herself and get away? It won't be easy, but please be your own best friend in this. Love yourself. This has to be all about you and protecting yourself now.

  Please do not continue to beat yourself up.

  If you believe in God, then you need to know that he is not condemning you. You are only repeating what you've been falsely taught. It is not truth, and you are not wicked.

  You are a dear person who has not received the love and support he should have. You are worthy of love, not punishment. Please think on these words.

  they just posted the simplified august study watchtower on jw.org.. paragraph 11 of the "expectation!

  " article says this:.

  "so even if we feel that we have been waiting a long time, this does not mean that the end is far away or that it is not coming in our lifetime.".
