Sausage or Bacon?
by Quarterback inwhen bethel serves pancakes, do they give you a choice?
is it only 1 choice.
it sure would be a deal breaker for me if i didn't get to choose between bacon, or sausages.

Anyone Here Used to Fear Persecution?
by kneehighmiah ini was thinking today about how i no longer have to fear the attack of satan against the jws.
i used to fear being rounded up and beaten by mobs.
seeing my family tortured.

I do remember being told we would all be rounded up and placed in camps, probably stripped naked like in the concentration camps, and how horrifying that would be. Not to have "them" see us but to be naked in tight quarters with all our "brothers"! And that was without regard to the child molestation issues.
Another time the focus was on "fleeing to the mountains" and one of our bethel-trained elders gave a talk about how we needed to be strong enough to help the older ones in the cong get there...so ridiculous now, but we took it seriously.
Even back then I had doubts as to whether I could "stay on jah's side" if my children were to be tortured.
So sad that the very ones who were supposed to shepherd us were torturing us day by day...

Adult child who was sexually abused as toddler tells me I should not be upset at the elders/wts because it's all in the past...same thing her elders told me in an email.
They cannot and don't want to reason, because its easier to ignore the elephant in the room.
So sad.

Memorial Attendance: The Single Most Impactful TTATT "Witness" to Family and Friends
by AMNESIANO inanyone who has awakened to ttatt and conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent individual from a prominent multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.
by this one concession s/he assigns him-/herself by every single jw to their handy and dimissive purgatory: the "spiritually-weak.".
nothing blasts a louder, clearer, and more deliberate message to the jws who personally knew you and those familiar with your jw bona fides that you are not merely "not making the meetings" or "spiritually-weak" but that there is a conscientious reason you have rejected the entire watchtower society life than choosing to forego what they know you know to be their one-and-only holy and sacred event of the year, the lord's evening meal.

The only fear now is being cornered by elders trying to get a d.a. confession...

My wife is truly a non-jw...
by Jim_TX ina little bit of background (for those of you who came in late).... i used to be a jw (no joke!).
i married a jw wife.
we were married for about 20 years, and i couldn't take it anymore - since i was no longer a jw, and didn't believe in their doctrines anymore.. i got divorced in 2002. since that time, i was solo, and then met a nice non-jw woman.

Found one stuffed in the door today. jw who lives with me never invited me...though fair to say, probably just too awkward.

Are JW'S "hated" in all the world? Or...are they considered IRRELEVANT?
by Terry inwathctower 90/1/1 p. 12 par.
8 not ashamed of the good news .
while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.

Saw a social media post where a 30-something jw proclaimed that all the "persecution" she suffered had stressed and aged her prematurely (quotes mine). They have been indoctrinated with such a martyr complex that they sadly believe this claptrap.
People in the world aren't interested and think they're a bit odd.
