well, i've made it through the first year!

one year out and still surviving - despite the fact that they said i would come crawling back with my tail between my legs!!.

i cant believe a year could go by so fast and also that you could achieve so much.

Help!! How can you make a witness tell the truth?

i'm talking the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about their organization---up front, not subtly creeping it in.

two of them caught me by surprise this morning at my door (nobody here knows me from adam) offering the awake magazine on battered women.

i was incredulous, having had experience with being a battered woman and a witness all at the same time.

I agree with you 10000000%...

That is why I think it is sooooo important to get the UN issue out to the public.. They will either have to admit they lied, or admit they used "Theocratic Warfare" to associate with the UN in the first place..

As soon as non-witnesses know the truth about the witnesses, and their 'door-to-door' tactics, no one will trust them..

Ah, you're the ones that use something called "Theocratic Warfare strategy" which means basically lie to me to show me your version of "truth", right? Thank you, but no thank you.. Door slams in face..

On another note, I had a bible study with a couple of JW's about 9 months back.. Since I was reading all this information, I knew the answers to alot of interesting stuff that I knew they would not tell me directly... I don't know how many times I allowed them to back themselves into a corner with a "half-truth" and then, although it usually took 1/2 - 1 hour to get them to fess up, get them to say the real truth.. EVERY TIME WITHOUT EXCEPTION that I got them to say what they really meant, their excuse for lying was, "Oh, you may have misinterpreted what we said".. And every time, I replied, "If you knew that we were going to misinterpret what you said and didn't do anything about it, it is lying.."..

I finally sprang it on them that I knew all about Theocratic Warfare Strategy, and WOW! did that upset them... They then replied about "having to feed on milk before you get solid food" or something like that!!!

I replied if you are not telling me the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, then the "milk" you are feeding me is tainted..

Needless to say, the bible study ended shorlty thereafter :-)

as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

Reverse rationalization

question for opposers:.

if world events unfold pretty much as the wts predicts (or rather, as they interpret the bible to predict), and this culminates in armageddon, where jehovah makes himself known and publicly endorses jws.... .

how would you begin rationalize that?

Oh,

Alienone, just so we are clear that the WT does more than just "interpret" the bible when making prophecies, I give you these..

Please contrast these statements from the WT with:

(From the New International Version)

Deuteronomy 18:18 - 22

18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
19 If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account.
20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."
21 You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?"
22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

Well, for starters, I'd ask why god lied in the bible? After all, Deuterotemy clearly shows via the Watchtower's own statements that they are false prophets..

So, I'd have to wonder why God lied to me...

BTW: Obviously, God cannot lie, so the only explanation is that the JW's are not prophets, and if they do get it right somehow, it will be by mere accident..

And I'm not holding out any hope that they got it correct this time, either.. After all, they should have something in their record to fall back on..

At least this way, in a future watchtower they can honestly say, "We have a 100% proven track record with our prophecies".. Getting any of their prophecies correct, and they couldn't claim that distincive honor any longer!!!

I think a better question, however, would be why has it been 120+ years, and they still haven't gotten one prophecy right yet? Even an average person has better luck than that.. Could it be that GOD doesn't want them to get anything right, and is making sure to 'frustrate' the false prophet, so as to give warning to any WT followers to "get out of her" before it's too late?

well, i did it.. it's official and i'm relieved.. the elders wanted to try talking to me once again, but after awhile it was obvious that they were only interested in changing my thoughts not answering any questions.

so, i just calmly asked if i could disassociate myself.

they acted stunned and they got tears in their eyes, but i told them that i had already grieved and was ready to move on with life.
