Since Great Crowd has no mediator
by sosoconfused ini am thinking that maybe i missed this discussion or something.
now for years in the org i never ever paid attention to the article that says jesus is the mediator for the 144000 alone.
yesterday talking to my 70+ year old dad he got violently angry with me and threw his cane at me because he said i was a liar.. .

I never realised this "truth" either, until I read it here on this forum! proof if any were needed that the majority of us just sit there in the hall and swallow what is fed to us! but not anymore people!

Yes I read that article and thought "are you people entirely stupid"!! Delighted that they avoid me in the street, sometimes I pretend I dont see them because I cant stand the pathetic "we miss you at the meetings" I always feel like saying "and tell me,what is it exactly that you miss about me"? So boring!

Since you've left, are you still good friends with your bestest JW buddies?
by Julia Orwell inis it possible that someone has a jw friend who's very active in the congregation, knows you don't believe it anymore, and is still your friend?
i'm at the point where word is getting out that i'm not going to meetings anymore, and friends ask me if they'll be seeing me at the ca and i tell them i'm not going.
they want to know why, and what they can do to encourage me.

We had realy close friends in the congregation for almost 25 years we would holiday together and when I look at family photos of weddings etc they are everywhere,we were closer than family but now I never see them and if I do they pretend they dont see me! So much for "brothers" but now I have made new friends here and locally who seem to like me "unconditionaly" so thats fine. Glad to be away from those shallow people.

Circuit Overseer sign up sheet
by A question ineveryone knows that people sign up to have the co over for lunch wed. through fri. but in your area, did they (even privately, outside of a sign up sheet) also invite him over sometimes for dinner as well, at all?
is this something that varies by co?.

I hated those visits, sisters climbing over each others backs to invite them for a meal only to discover that only the elite in the congregation would be considered,in the end our lot stopped asking for volunteers it always went to the elders wives or their pals, nausiating men pleasers,I used to avoid those visits if I could, and then just bung him £20 on the Sunday ugh! So glad I am out.

I'M SERIOUS!!!! If you eat cupcakes you will die at the Big "A"
by Gojira_101 ini was just doing dishes not really thinking about anything in particular, and all of a sudden this experience came flooding back and i started crying.. a few years ago i went back to one of the states i lived in to see/visit my friends (before i learned ttatt, i was still a happy borg at this time).. the friends i were staying with had two young girls, one was 3rd grade and the other was preschool.
so one day the father comes home after picking up the older girl (i think she was 7, 8...i'm not sure exactly this was several years ago) and she was all red and looked like she had been crying.
i noticed she had some blue at the corner of her mouth.

I feel so bad about that I was so careful never to err on the side that I know I imposed crushing restrictions on my children it makes me ill to think about those years and "I wanted the best for you" is no excuse, my instincts should have kicked in and I should never have ignored them. My kids are better people than I am because they say "dont worry Mum were fine" Im not.
