If you two are having sex - and that is the "bond" between you - go to the elders and turn him in, then they will disfellowship him. Problem solved. If he is all up into the Kingdom Hall and having "secret" sex with you as well, this is an indicator of the level of honesty he will bring into the marriage. Women do not change men's basic character, ever. Trust me on this. The Kingdom Hall has a lure for men because they get to have Titles and think they are in charge , and they get to wear suits and ties and act like executives in a little fantasy land.

companions and carers.
by zeb inyesterday i had the duty of care to take our feline companion of 20 years to the vet to be euthanized.. i took a tin of his fav tuna and gave him a last meal at the vets to settle him as the needle and medication did its work.. he died peacefully and in no pain.
my wife and i buried him in the garden next to a another older moggie.. i had the duty to email this sad news to the family who have largely grown up with him.. i sat in my back room and cried bitterly.
i will miss him terribley and his head rubbs him checking on me once i was in bed and all his ways.. sleep well..... time for another cry..

I think animals have their own connection to God. The Bible says God is aware of the death of every sparrow and its spirit returns to Him from where it came. The Bible also calls animals living souls and says they have spirits. Who knows what happens after death and where all spirits and conscientiousness continue on to ? The intelligence and wisdom of animals is observable to those who take notice. I am always amazed at even the insects and their ability to communicate with one another and accomplish tasks and build things. We like to explain animals away as some kind of robots, but careful observation has revealed animal individual personality and learning abilty beyond what we can even comprehend.

John the Baptist beheaded on Herod's birthday. Why?
by leaving_quietly init was in this week's bible reading.
mark 6:21: "but a convenient day came along when herod spread an evening meal on his birthday for his top-ranking men and the military commanders and the foremost ones of galilee.".
look at the various renderings of this verse.

One of my biggest regrets is the pain I caused my daughter by NOT celebrating her Birthdays and letting her invite all her friends from school. I remember her little face, and the loneliness of being raised in a judgemental islolating group of KH "friends" who did not really care about us at all. Because I was a single mom, they avoided us like we were "weak in the truth" we didn't fit the perfect witness family model. If I had it all to do over I would bake her a cake with candles and wrap up presents, and at Christmas we would decorate a tree and I would surround it with gifts for her. She still sufferes mentally from her childhood, and she was sexually molested by a brother, she blames me. But fortunately she has found a wonderful husband and he saw to it she went to university and now my two grandchildren are in university as well. And you should see how she does Birthdays and Christmas, its a huge celebration every time.

The door bell rang today
by ABibleStudent injust before i started undressing to take a shower to go to an appointment, the door bell rang.
i thought about not answering the door, but then thought what the hell it could be my neighbor, who is a widow and in her 70's, needing some help.. at the door was a frail man about 85+ years old dressed in a shabby sport coat, shirt, tie, and slacks, and a skinny woman about 75+ years old in a long dress that needed to be ironed.
as i grabbed my dog to prevent him from jumping at the screen door, which was partially open, and beating the couple with his tail and making them fall, i thought what am i going to do.

Next time invite them in for tea and some food. Listen to their personal story. You might be able to share something gently that would be a comfort to them. Its not their fault.

From laundry mat to laundry mat
by donny inabout three years ago, i was walking past a local laundry mat and i noticed some of the society s publications laying on the chairs by the window.
so i walked inside and found an awake from 1995 and a watchtower from 1989. the latter one was funny to me because i was still in the organization when it was released.
i couldnt help but be shocked at how old these magazines were.

I knew several crazed people in my old congregation who had literally stacks of magazines from the ceiling to the floor, piles of them, not just one pile, like one of those Hoarding TV shows. One woman had piled up magazines in towering stacks all over her living room, so that there was only a narrow passage to walk between the piles of Watchtowers and Awakes, seriously it was scary.

DFing....Human Rights Violation and DEFAMATION of character?

what are "rights" and where do the stem from?.
human equality.

Which is why, Terry, you need to tread softly with the athiest stuff, because its your right to believe as you choose, but these people who come here straight from the KH of being DF are already bleeding to death and they are frightened and filled with "warnings" about demonized people and "terrible apostates" I respect your right to be an athiest Terry, and at the same time you seem to have a caring heart for others.

Why did the organization stop providing food during conventions?
by redvip2000 ini'm sure many of us still remember these times when the organization used to sell food at conventions.. i also remember that when this was stopped, the official reason was that the "brothers" were missing some of the program because of all the preparations.
typical watchtower "pretend we care" excuse.. i've wondered if there is another reason behind it, tied to perhaps finances or logistics that was the real deciding factor.
history and typical "modus operandi" of the society tells me that if there was some money to be made that way, they would not have stopped.. wonder if anybody has more info on this..

Sikh Temples serve food for free, and so do Buddahists and Hindus, and Seventh day Adventists, here in Canada, US and in India. Communal eating can be very bonding and spiritual feeling. Of course its about charity and the WT wants to avoid the appearance of being charitable : )
