So depressed...(world conditions)
by DanTheMan intoday was one of the hardest days i've had yet since leaving jw.
i was barely able to work, and i have a knot in my stomach.. i look at the world situation and i feel so hopeless and helpless.
knowing there are millions of people outside of the u.s. that, if you were to put a button in front of them that had a label below it that said "kill every man woman and child in the u.s.a." that they wouldn't even hesitate to press it.. i wonder where it will end.

Should I "ex JW" SHUN my JW family??
by curiouschristy ini haven't posted in a while... been very busy lately.
i am glad to be back though, i started reading the posts right away, and immediately felt comfort for how you guys are feeling, knowing i feel the same way.
not many of you know my story.... but for a quick run down... i'm a disf'd jw, for about 11 yrs now, i'm 28, disf'd at the tender age of 17... my mother and sister are still in the org... they only talk to me when they want to, it doesn't have to be an important event, life or death or anything.

Friends are chosen and families are inherited. All members of my family are JWs.
I am not dfd but have been fading for two years. In the long term i think it is better to keep that line
of civility open between family members. Choose your battles very carefully. Make sure you are not
rebelling against yourself.

Clinton- monica lewinsky, linda trip, impeachment, cheating
Bush-iraq, soon there will be war, bad economy, Middle East mess, Venezuela mess, afghanistan, Enron, World com
I would choose Clinton's soap opera anytime rather than Bush's; which is personally affecting me, my family and my friends.
Those were the good old days!!!!!!

Your question reminds me of a friend who asked if there was anything i learned because of growing up (part of my childhood) in war torn country. YES!!!! Positive and negative. Bust still, I don't wish people to live in a war torn country. So your question is all too inclusive.

Experiences: How you know it ain't the 'truth'

when i was a teenager, there was a young lady early 20's who had moved into our cong.
she had a newborn son and had just married her worldly boyfriend, the father of the baby.

About the two beheaded Witnesses
by Kingpawn ini got to thinking about this at work a couple of nights ago.. a news story said that the two jw's killed weren't (apparently) proselytizing in the phillipines, which is described as a heavily muslim nation.
though they were found with avon products, avon said the two were neither employees nor representatives.. now, why would two jw's be in a heavily muslim land, possibly pretending to be something they're not?
were they just lugging the stuff from place to place for someone as a favor?.
